Lets not kid ourselves. Food that is good for you sux. Food that is bad for you is delicious. That's the hard part. Fooling yourself into thinking eating cardboard and roof shingles is tasty. And fried whole clams, fish and chips and Chicken Alfredo does not taste good.
It has to be a 100% full on commitment or your wasting time.
Still ornery huh.
Glad to see some things haven't change around here.
I meant it in a loving way. ITs not as easy as it sounds. Lots of interrupting factors involved. I'm guessing RK is single so that alone takes a lot of distractions off the table.
You are 100% correct. I am single and that alone makes this work very smoothly.
I totally understand the household having food in the house for everyone.
I can't keep candy around or cookies or anything that is not on my list of OK'd foods.
I know so many people that fail because a spouse has their goodies around or isn't on board with the dietary change.
When I do get treats I go for the smallest servings I can buy. Usually dollar store/ movie theater box of candy aprox 3oz.
But
If I fill up on a steak I'm not in much of a mood for candy. OR a second steak instead of a potato, stuffing, site dishes.
Desert is my weakness, always has been since a kid. My folks every now and then would get some real danish from the bakery and with a cup of coffee you can't walk away willingly. I get it. But I also did it, I started to get good results and then nothing of food could deter me. Now I'm pretty much down - within 10 pounds of fighting weight - UFC 170 welter weights are my size, I'm at around 180 now. Treats are part of life in maintenance state. I'm still getting leaner also and this year six decade mark hits.
Walk away from the table for a minute and get some fresh air, clear your head before you eat that pie. Chances are if you don't start with the rest - you can skip it.
On my cheat/treat days every few weeks I get a movie night with treats.
Eating in front of the tv is a big no no. I only do it with the candy and the candy ruins my appitite so I usually skip a meal.
At the end of the day. I ate the candy and didn't gain wt.
Don't do it more than one day in every few weeks but that gets me through. Others may have to find their tricks.
