Hey RK,
Hope all is well out in sunny California. I am going to purchase new tires for Mertle and appreciate the posts I found in this thread. Are you still sold on the Michelin Commander II tires? I have found the front tire on-line for $166.99 (130/70B18 63H) with free shipping. I got over 13,000 miles on my original Dunlops and my second set is now over 11,000 miles, but I want to change before we do our long trip in July. I would hate to have tire problems in Montana! Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Oh by the way.....snow is finally gone in southern MO!

Hey,
Doing well, it's been unseasonably warm lately, no snow!!
The MCII's are great tires. We don't get much rain out here, when we did they weren't so good... I only got stuck in the rain once, and it hadn't rained in a long time when it did happen. The roads were covering in an oil slick and even the car tires spin if you hit it too hard on the painted surfaces. So I concluded that the tires weren't to blame. That said.
I think the tires are great. I liked them so much a bought a second set last year. I got almost 11k out of the first back tire and have 16k+ on the current front tire. I didn't take it easy on the first back tire so your mileage may vary...
Very supple ride, easy on the bumps and great in the corners. I hope they give you the same great ride and service I got. I recommend them. I keep my tires around 38-40 psi.
