Had a couple of earth quakes last night at about 9.15. A 4.2 and a 3.6. Not very big by most standards but the epicenter was about 6 or 7 miles from us. Made alot of noise and shook us pretty good. Didn't have any damage here but some broken gas lines in Lava Hot Springs. Glad we don't get them very often, I'd run out of under wear.

Hey Gramps,
I've been in CA for almost 30 years - long enough to live through many of the Shakers - and some of the really bad ones... As long as the house is still standing - I'm good... :icon_swoon:
My brother is so funny - one time - he went through the house screaming "EARTH - QUAKE" then ran out into the back yard... I think I laughed so hard I had to change out my shorts!!
Glad to hear it wasn't a bad one!! AND You and yours are OK.

We don't get them very often and i'm fine with that. We had one about 30 years ago, about 150 miles north of here that did a lot of damage and killed two kids walking to school as a building fell on them. The valley floor droped close to 10 feet. If it hadn't been in such a rural area would have been much worse.

Had an earth quake here in Illinois a couple of years ago. It was the first won I have ever been in.
I can't remember the magnitude but it shook my house preety good. I jumped out of bed grabed a sword and headed for the front door.
I thought someone was trying to break in, my wife had a good lough about that.

That's a good story - my first Quake was in my youth in upstate NY - I thought my kid sister was messing with me - only to find out the same

Careful with those lawn chairs - I sat in one once and wound up in the same position... I didn't know they had a weight limit :icon_laughing:
