If after tax's you won 10 million how would you spend it? Who would you help?

I'll go first:

* I would first gut my mothers house and rebuild it to her specs, how she wants it. And buy her any car she wanted. And hire a maid to help her every day.
* I would help all 3 of my kids w/ in reason. Pay off their homes and buy them each a modest new vehicle. Set aside an interest bearing account for each of my grandkids to be used for college and if not going to college to get a jump start on life, wonder what age is adequate to give them the money if they are not going to college? Thats all for my children. They will still need to work and pay into retirement. 10,000,000 is not alot of money when spent capriciously.
* I would move to a researched motorcycle freindly location somewhere in the lower continental USA and with lots of room (acreage) and no neighbors.
* I would build a new house but nothing ridiculously far fetched. Central air and heat,4 bedroom with 2 car garage under the house and an attached work shop with all the tools and a nice lift would be the only extravagance. I would indulge in an all inclusive camera security monitoring system.
* I would have a new 4 wheeler and new dirt bike to peruse the property.
* I really like my 2013 Dodge Ram so I'm good with a vehicle. Would have to figure out what vehicle my spouse would prefer. No new motorcycle, my 2012 Ultra is the shiznizzy.
* Modest bomb shelter which could also be used in times of hurricanes and tornadoes as a safe place to retreat to.
* I would manage my money myself. Don't trust people. With the money left over I would put it in an interest bearing account and I believe I should be able to live off the interest?
* My brothers and sisters would come asking for money and I would tell them to go f*ck themselves. They don't bother with me now so their interest in me then would only be about the money. In fact that would basically be my guiding light as to who I helped and who I didn't. Other then my children and grand children its just me and my wife. I'm sorta hermit like as it is.

Pay off what little debt I have

Make a few mods to the bike

Build house's for my four kids

Ask if I could tag along with you on your trip to alaska

Hire a lawyer to exsponge my record

Travel

Actually BI - your game plan is very senseable and I'm pretty much in agreement. I'd first take care of my family, make sure they have a good place in life. Some very close friends would be next, standard stuff. A good vehicle and some place to call home. As for myself - I'd change little - I guess I'm a happy camper. I would get myself an over the road vehicle so I can travel back east anytime my heart desired. Probably a good rig - something that I can pull a trailer with - take the bike and stuff. I would get myself a place/home back in NY to be close to those friends I miss so badly. I wouldn't give up my current home though, I might buy all the other houses on the block -

Being as I'm rolling between June 18 and July 24th contruction work will be blooming at that time. Thought I extend the offer anyways.

I imagine if you can get a passport perhaps getting into Canada might not be a problem, I don't know how that works. I heard if you have a DUI and/or felonys you're denied entry?

They do profile on both sides of the border. I try to look as much like a old touring vet as possible. Its not to hard. Its about the ride not the hassles.

I would make sure all six kids have college money and a good start on life. I wouldn't want them to know we had money, but rather what it means to want for things and how hard work can get you there if your smart. I'd make sure my folks and inlaws are well taken care of. Then a log cabin in NC on a few acres as our main home and a cottage on the beach in Florida. I would live my dream of investing and working on bikes. I still wouldn't buy a car for myself, but I'd buy my wife a nice truck in case she needed it (in addition to her convertible). As far as bikes go, I would buy a new ElectraGlide Liimited. I'd keep my wideglide and maybe even track down my old Heritage.
