The water looks almost an emerald blue or maybe it was the coral reflecting? I don't know I didn't go in..not a swimming suit guy. And I am Polish/Irish..not prone to sun tanning either.
We mostly tanked up at the Waffle House in the late morning and then for supper I was at the mercy of my wifes hearts desire. We ate at the Jimmy buffet place once (over rated and expensive). Another time at this beat down, hurricane blown pile of sh*t but the food was great. Ate at Sloppy Joes once. Crowded, good food and lively music. Another time at this fancy smancy over priced place. What ever..vacation. Another time at the Hogs Breathe. A pretty cool Key west version of a biker bar. They have a running stream camera in the restaurant so you could call a relative, have then pull up the hogs breath web site and they could watch you on the llive cam. We did that too.
I think timing is everything. Like Deerslayer we hit it in April too. Weather was warm but not over bearing. Crowded sorta but not as crowded as I imagine it is once school lets out. November is freak month. Fantasy fest or something like that. I can only imagine.
We had a game plan in place before we got there. We'd heard rumors of homosexual over load. If that was the truth we weren't staying. Proved not to be the case at all. I'm not against gay folks or dislike them, just don't want to be around them. Or in general excessive decadence and debauchery for that matter.

Well back in Ma. the trip was 3600 + miles, 1 day at the drag race museum in Ocala, 3 days at the drags in Bradenton FL. day and a half at Key Weird, then 3 days at the drags in Va. Guess it doesn't leave much time for riding but we got it done, bike just turned 195,000 miles. Time for a shower at home. DEERSLAYER

Question: You say "we", who'd you take with you?
You can have it cheap. You can have it fast. You can have high quality. PICK ANY 2....

I get the part about the bombing in Boston. And Boston and Worcester are pretty close. I don't get the part about the one friend on his Ultra.

RK had asked what was the "we" that I had used and was explaining that it was a riding friend on his Ultra. The trip was smooth going and about a day ahead all vacation. I usually have extra time when I have races to go to and this time was 2 with 1400 miles in between. Normal MPH was about 80 all the time with numbers up to 100 and that was just running with traffic. Went through lydar traps at 80 plus and the officer did not even move. On another post you recommended 65-70 MPH, where I was you would be in the right lane possibly getting run over, hope you find roads that run those speed. I guess you won't be on Interstates, just on the state roads. I get bored on the SR routes, get tired of the lights and condition of the roads.

I guess you won't be on Interstates, just on the state roads. I get bored on the SR routes, get tired of the lights and condition of the roads. When I ride and its just me and my wife I'm in no hurry. I stay in the far right lane. Once in the midwest the interstate speed limits are 75mph and so I do go 75-80mph. And its not to bad considering your in cornfield country and its not crazy town. And on other occasions like when I was coming back from AR I was riding with someone who stayed at 75-80 mph. Definatley out of my comfort zone. I tend to avoid heavily congested cities if I can. Instead of going thru Cleveland,Chicago etc..I dropped down off I-80 on I-77 to I-70. Lot less chaotic. And I do interdisperse St rts w/ interstates. They move along pretty good and no traffic, lots to see and none non existent cars either way, like Kansas state rt 400 which cross's the southern Kansas east/west boundries. 60-65 mph. Not all st rts are bad roads. One thing about st rts is in some cases services are far and few between. And even on interstates in the southwest is pretty suspect in places. I-84 and I-81 are the 2 main interstates I use getting out of the NE and I ride at 70mph no problems. I just stay in the right lane.

you had written once that we could meet up unless I was scared to meet you, well bad influence I can't imagine anything you could influence me to make me badder. I really don't think I want to ride with you, your entire attitude of every morning when you get on the bike you are scared of the roads people animals. I am nothing like that I never think of anything when I get on my bike other that the road in front of me. I am total positive, I know what I am doing and I do it. DEERSLAYER
