I hear you though..why give some ego surpressed Andy Fife type a chance to have a ball at your expense. Those kind of cops are out there. Yeah, i always wondered if they had some special kind of speaker system that made them legal, or was it just for one ear? I ride my bicycle with just one bud in while I'm on the street, the right ear. when I look over my left shoulder my right ear is pointing straight up the road and I've had occasions - yes more than once - that something flew into my right ear while looking back for traffic. With the right ear bud in no more bugs. I had a cop circle back when he saw i had ear buds in, as he made his U turn I popped the opposite side out. He pulled up next to me and gave me a really hard look when he saw I only had one ear covered. HA HA!! I got a ticket, on my bicycle, for ear phones once. NOT going to let that happen twice.

Wow..with all the really serious crime in your area and thats a ticket..what a needle dick. Was it a young cop? I can't see an older experienced cop wasting his precious time on such BS?

The cop must have been a real spincter. I didnt' realize it was against the law to wear earphones on a bike. Some cops just don't get it. Earlier this year a cop gave my wife a hard time because her car was parked pointed the wrong way on a street. It wasn't illegal to park there, her car was just facing the wrong way. She was at a park with our two youngest kids and he took 10 minutes out of his day to discuss her crime.

She was at a park with our two youngest kids and he took 10 minutes out of his day to discuss her crime. The Cop was a total idiot - he was clueless. He actually seemed gay and wanted to talk to me - I was wearing my bike shorts - I don't mind when the girls go by and admire the view but he was really creeping me out. I was happy to get the ticket and GTFOOT - stands for get the f out of there.... On the subject of ears covered - I was at the motorcycle show this weekend and checked out several new products that I"ll start new threads on. One of them - an intercom system that uses blue tooth. One was a rear facing camera that mounts on the back of the helmet with an actual video screen that mounts to the front of the helmet and acts like a rear view mirror. I want one that detects cops sneeking up behind me... I also got to look at some of the newest manufacturers efforts. The helmet I recently got is no longer available. The new ones are a mat finish and only the painted carbon fiber have a shine. The mat finishes are supposed to not show scratches as easily. I can see how - since nothing shines missing or scratched surfaces have much less contrast and are harder to see. The different manufacturers had a couple helmets I was interested in. I need to do some more research on the subject.

Helmets...so many manufacturers,so many styles. Its hard to get cool and functional together, lol. I found vega to be closest to cool and functional. Not as cool as a novelty helmet but novelty helmets are not DOT approved either. Vega: https://www.vegahelmet.com/images_street ... _black.jpg
