Gotrod#1, I,m looking to do the same as you.I have a 2012 103in. ultra. I'm fairley certain that I'm going to go with the Vance and Hines power duals head pipe, k&n air filter, race tuner ,just not sure about the pipes yet. The service tech at Yankee HD says that power duals make better power than Vance and Hines true duals, because the front pipe on the true duals is so much longer than the rear pipe.Rheinhart true dual head pipes made the best power on the dyno, but a lot of people(including myself) don't like the way they look. Changing from the heads back will eliminate the cat,and proper tuning on the dyno will also help to cool things down. I've talked with several guys who've had this done at Yankee and they were very pleased, the guy who does the dyno tuning has a very good rep.My only reservation is with the pipes, I want good performance but not too loud(not that loud equates with the best performance).Going to talk more in depth with the mechanic tomorrow and make a decision soon. Hope to see what you go with, good luck!

I went 2into1 - those stock mufflers weigh a ton. probably took off 15 lbs weight savings.

I think the rumor is the 2-1 exhaust will offer better performance... however the duals sound and look better. I'm not an Ultra guru, but I read somewhere that if you remove the catalytic converter it will reduce the heat a lot as well. So, if you are replacing the whole pipe, either way you go it should help.

My bike got a boost in performance with the 2into1. Before with the duals it took a little longer to get up to freeway speed, now I just run out of rpm's.
