Today it spit snow. Roads were wet and temp drops to 27 degrees. Accidents all over the place. There was a 6 ambulance pile ,up on the interstate with one broadside hit anda extraction. Usually an out of towner.

Thanks KS. I took it slow in to work...30 mpg's and in 4x4 drive. My wife had been out earlier in the evening shopping,8pm and said she'd lost control of the car twice coming home. I asked her was she going a little fast and did she have her 4x4 on?

These A'holes here in Texas get all stupid when it just rains. You can just imagine what it's like when we get an occasional snow. They shut down everything and the idiots go out anyway. Bunch of stupid people now a days.

Back in the days when I was growing up the first snow/ice fall was an open invitation to go out in empty parking lots in the car and do doughnuts and practice all the stunts like we were on skid pads.
I lived on a hill, as the snow got deeper, we used to shut the tv off and watch the idiots get stuck and run into each other... always a slow speed bumper bender- thankfully.
Be safe - slow down.

I bought a beater farm house in the serious rural country and surrounded by yuppies. Doctors, lawyers, judges etc..all real educated but in my observation not to smart. Up here the modis operandum for the yupsters is Saabs and Volvo's, very stylish and nuvo riche' but not notoriously great in serious snow mainly because they are so low. So like you, I live on a hill, Freeman Hill to be exact and with a serious 3/4 mile steady incline/decline. I drive a 4x4 Dodge Ram hemi hemi hemi!!LOL. I get up and down the hill no problemo's as long as I take it slow. And w/out fail with every major snow storm of 6-8 inchs or more there is inevitably a number of stranded Volvos and Saabs trying to grind and spin up the hill when I come rolling home. Despite I don't exist in their world (I'm old school, I wave to everyone I pass on my road....a hand gesture or a finger or 2 never so much receiving return hand waves as ignored. Just an observation), I always stop and ask would they like a ride home. And they happily except my offer. One guy even called and asked if I could go get his wife when she comes home later. Of course I say sure. Winter comes and goes and again the no wave acknowledgment. Strange world, eh? I know down south hand and finger hello gestures abundant. Yankees suck .

Some folks just don't wave. I think some folks are just oblivious to other drivers or have other things on thier mind. I consider myself a friendly person and I am always respectful to everyone. I'm not sure if I always wave back if someone is waving at me. Sometimes my car or bike is my haven from the world... a little "me" time. No work... no wife... no kids... no animals... no gangsta's...

You're a nice guy give a person the benefit of the doubt kickstand. Up here its more of a better then thou attitude by too many folks. Snooty. Down in North Carolina anyways, people throw a hand up to anyone and all the time. Justa good old down home country kinda environment. Up way Northeast its dog eat dog and F'you...don't stay bent over too long.
I help who I can when I can. Other than that I don't bother with 'em. F*ck 'em. I was never a backyard neighborhood BBQ person.

BI - not all Yankee's are Yuppy's... Yuppies suck. They use you then ignore you. You would get a invite to pie and coffee if you ever helped the yankees that I know. Not only that but you would have a friend for life. It's the city mindset - too many people to care about anyone. Selfish people drive saabs and bmw's and volvo's... not quite rich enough to get themselves a Benz... LOL!! I'd only give them one chance - after that, let them call their Mommies for help.

I know the type you are refering to... the kind that look at you like your something the cat forgot to cover up. I have never been the backyard BBQ type either. Where I live now, folks are friendly enough, but none of them are overly friendly. I hope it last.
