So listen to this, right after I wrote my post on this thread the knuckle headed dog got into the trash and scarfed some chicken bones... I waited a couple days to make sure he was going to be ok..

Then- the handle of the kitchen sink faucet broke off - no problem easy fix - usually...

The set screw was frozen into the handle and even with penatrating oil and heat I couldn't get it out. It stripped and I had to drill it out and then tap the hole. Nice way to spend a Tuesday evening.

Man, why can't anything EVER be easy.
A while back I had a drip in my shower faucet, no problem, I'll put new washers in it. Well a week later after tearing apart my shower wall, it was cultured marble, and removing the door , and a complete new shower fixture, I was back in business.

When it rains it pours. At first I thought those were the instruments you used to remove the chicken bones....I'm just saying,lol.

Yeah lab results came back and Mels okay...must just be old age, he is 10 years old.

Thanks BI - he doesn't look like that anymore - LOL - hes got a big azzed scar on his head and his ears are broken over from running into the fence trying to get the neighbors dog.

So how does a 100 pound German Shepard blast through a solid tempered plate glass door???

We - me the old GF and chucklehead were outside at night in my workshop with the bright lights on. I had cleaned the patio door earlier that day but I have the bottom half drawn on with white shoe polish(looks like one of those doors solid on the bottom open on the top- I did this so the dog would see it and not run through the door - I also had a premonition that this was going to happen). I put up some new holiday lights (blue) inside the house. The patio was dark -floodlights off. I had diner in the oven and the timer set.

I came out of the workshop to check on diner- the GF and dog were still in the shop - as I get closer to the house I can faintly hear the oven timer going off so I step it up and run into the house sliding the patio door closed behind me. The dog must have come out of the shop just enough to see my scoot into the house, his eyes must not have adjusted enough to see the closed door and he ran after me into the house but the door was closed and he hit it full force head first.

I was in the kitchen and behind part of a wall the shielded me from the spray of glass but it was something.

Good news/bad news...
We all share that problem though... I never met anyone/anything that gets younger...
Enjoy him while you got him, I'm averaging 11 years on the bigger ones and max my smallest Shepard was 15 - blind in one eye- walked in circles but had heart right up to the last second.
The current one will be 9 in march I know what you're feeling - I'm watching him turn into an old man too.

If it was easy - a woman could do it and we'd all have more time to ride...

Yeah - I've had those days - started with a squeeky floor and ended up with new floor joists, sub floor ...
At least it doesn't drip any more

Reminds me of the time a patridge flew thru my 8x8 living room window. Luckily its in 3 rows of 3 5x8 windows so the whole 8x8 was not impacted.

It's a good day around here if I don't have a drama for a couple hours...
After he crashed it, I completely replaced the patio door with one that has the grid in between the double pane glass. It came with a very nice locking/matching screen door. It was up for about 6 minutes before the dog walked into it and knocked it off the track and onto the patio.... I bought one of those metal grids that screw into the screen door so he can't walk though it now.

After these guys are gone I'm done with pets for awhile anyway. I always have to scramble when I want to go anywhere for doggy care. Thats a PITA.
