I am not a fan of full face helmets, but I am even lesser a fan of cold and rain. They are the best protection in my opinion, but they have never been comfortable for me. I got a fat head. I went down to Renegades and picked up a Vega 3.0. It is the most comfortable fullface helmet I hve ever had and I can hear what it going on around my bike as well.

My main reason for getting it is the cold, but it will also be used when it's raining. I was suprized how well it is designed. Think the pic attached is the right pic.

Hey D,
Here's a pic of my newish helmet- I got it a while ago but just started using it over this summer.
It has a removeable visor - and vents on the top - both helpful.
The visor is a b-tch without a windsheild - the wind blows the helmet up and backwards because of drag.
In the heat - the vents keep the air moving around inside. But can be closed to keep the heat in.

Yeah - KS's story - that's a f'd way to be treated...

I guess I'm going to have to make a road trip to the nearest helmet store, 100 miles, Barnett's HD, and try some on. Wal-mart is all I have here. Hate to buy without actually putting one on. Thanks for the help.

Once you find out your size - shop online for price - you'll be surprised how much you can save.

Once you can determine your big head size you should be able to order from anywhere. I also have helmets from JM Corp:

https://www.jmcorp.com/

My first order from JM the helmets were too small and I put them back in the box, called JM for return ID number deal and sent them back and got the next size up sent shortly afterwards.

I'm glad your thinking about getting a helmet. That particular story bothered me a lot as well. When I got the WG I also replaced my hemet. I got it at the HD dealer I got the bike at. It's a good quality helmet. I got the fullface helmet at https://www.renegadeclassics.com. They have helmets, jackets, glasses, shirts, stickers, patches, sewing, all kinds of stuff.... even sattlebags. They have stores all over. Maybe there is one close to you.

I think they had Nolan's as well, but not one to fit my meathead. I like the custom paint on your helmet.

It was 40 the other day and it worked great. The fullface helmet really takes away the turbulance, rocks, rain, spit, bugs, and cold. I may take the windshield mounts off my bike. If i need a windshield I can just wear the FF helm.

On my half helm I had to pull off the visor. Without the windshield it was a real bummer. However, it did show me that I wasn’t wearing the helmet tight enough. The visor on your helmet is a lot bigger. I bet it is tough in the wind.

I like the look of this one, think I'll check it out. Seems like most everyone is going with full face. The fact that I have no windshield on any of my bikes, this should work better for winter months
