It's a dry inert gas, industry claims
Less inflation pressure loss
Reduced wheel corrosion
Prevents inner-liner rubber deterioration by oxidation
Tires run cooler
Increases tread life and fuel mileage
Helps prevent uneven wear

Speaking of has anyone ever here's another one a guy asked me yesterday if I've ever put two cycle oil in my tank
He said he seen a guy doing it while filling up and asked why. The guys reply was he does it every winter it lubes motor and increases compresion.
I don't plan on trying it but has anyone ever heard of doing that

That actually makes some sense about the oxidation - the food companies pump nitrogen into packages to slow down deterioration. So, taking that and assuming that the rubber seals now hold pressure better because of less deterioration. Your tires keep the pressure up so you get better gas mileage and the tires wear evenly.
Probably works the same for tubes also - I have tubes in my bike.
Thanks for explaining it.

As for the oil in the gas, that is another new one to me. I would think that extra oil in the mix would eventually start to gum things up and make the bike smoke.

5,000 mile update

Well I've had these tires on for 5k already - didn't go anywhere but putt around my neck of the woods -

I started to feel like the tires weren't sticking that well - the front tire needed air...
after I got it back to correct pressure - everything is working well.

I love these tires - they are really smooth riding - and have very good traction. Comparing them to my previous Dunlops and Continentals these are by far superior - even for the x-tra money they cost.

Wet Weather Update

Just got caught in a down pour - it's been raining on and off all day so the roads have been washed clean- I gotta say these suckers break loose very easily - got wheel spin - got slippage - I'm not sure any other tire would do any better... but I really thought these would do better.
Anyway made it home alive - soaked to the skin - cold - and kinda disappointed that they didn't have better traction.... I must have looked like a damn stunt rider going sideways through that turn. :icon_swoon:

Thanks for the intel on the tire brand. Just as well might stay with Dunlap as what came on them.

Can't really say the Dunlaps would have done any better/worse. I can say that on dry roads the Michelin's are a smother ride than the Dunlaps.

Just bought a new Michelin commander rear tire paid 140.00 no tax, different tread than my last one, which I used going cross country in 2011, This new one is suppose to get better mileage than the first one I had, I will see. Rode it in the rain today and it was able to take a good amount of power before breaking loose. It was good in turns and breaking in a good downpour. Felt secure with that tire in the rear, on the front I have a Dunlap that has about 6 thousand on it. The side walls look better than the last commander I had, I will see what it takes to break it loose in 2nd gear, then I can make a guess how much mileage I will get out of it. NHRA national at New England dragway this weekend, that's where I will be from Thursday till Sunday. DEERSLAYER
