I heard good things about those Michelin tires especially for the new 17" front tire and the 180 rear on the newer bikes.

Rode two hours yesterday on the new tires and my opinion so far is wow. I'll never switch back to dunlop.
Cornering was effortless, smoother ride I went down an asphalt road that had been scarfed up in preparation for new surfaceing and the bike tracked really well.
Rain in forcast today after it lets up I may test wet traction

I bought a set for my FL back in Aug 11 replaced the rear one in Oct, the front is still on but almost gone. Liked the tires paid 180 for the 2 tires, great handling and wear was a lot better than the Dunlops. I put over 9,000 on the rear which is good for me when I am going crosscountry in the summer and running 80 plus all day and night long. Usually when I go crosscountry with dunlops at about 7500 they are bald and just hope it doen't rain before I get back to Ma. and that is generally in 17 or so days. The only thing I don't like about them is no skinney whitewalls, I did buy some tire paint and painted the small letters, looked decent but didn't last long. Normal running I usually see 15,000 for rears and 30+ for fronts. I usually replace fronts because they get to hard. I use dyna beads for balance and change all my own tires. Deerslayer

I have been wanting to do my own tire changes. I have used the dealership for most of my tire changes and get reamed everytime. 15k on a back is great compared to the Dunlop. I was getting about 9k rear - 18k front with the Heritage. Do the Dyna beads work well? I have considered changing my own tires and using "Ride On" ( https://www.ride-on.com )to balance and as "flat repellent". I have heard of the Dyna beads, but don't know much about them.

What tools do you use to mount the tires on the rims?

Hey Kickstand,
Check out this thread here on the forum under "Do it yourself" viewtopic.php?f=56&t=37

This should go through all the stuff to do it.

Hey C,
glad to hear that you finally got them on. I even more relieved that you like them as much as you do. I'd of hated to hear that you got them and then didn't feel that they were worth all the trouble.
Make sure you scuff them up really well before you do any hard cornering in the wet.
Ride safe, and enjoy them.
