True that!! It's good riding too.

We do have our urban compact areas of concern like Concord/Manchester, Hartford,Boston, Springfield,Providence, Portsmouth,NH/Southern Maine to name a couple. Oh and the whole shore of Connecticut south bound coming out of NYC. Maine and New Hampshire being a tourist area, especially coastal Maine, is epic traffic and oh the humanity. Its fairly wonderful before June and after September. Guess why? :icon_laughing:

Just as an update these are the best boots I've ever owned. Riding or not.

My old pair of riding boots came apart this year... they weren't good walking boots and they were old and they didn't particularly fit well. I had to switch to the newer ones that fit well, but they smell funkly. Not so much Arizona shoe funky, but more like wet feet dog poop funky. :icon_laughing:

WE were keeping the thread alive while you did your shake down evaluation :icon_lol:
Now the question is - is it too late for us to get some?

Here's the Sears link to the boots. They've appeared to go up a little but still not bad. You might try going down to your local Sears and try them also.

I had a pair of HD boots years ago and I really liked them. That pair had a side zipper and it ended up busting and I never got them fixed. They were comfortable and well made. I rotate my work boots and where I get the work boots does not offer HD that have the anti-static sole.

Checked the link, the one reviewer had his zipper break, but loves these boots so much he bought a second pair anyway.

I had a pair of Gorilla brand boots that were insulated and the padding was very comfortable.

My Oxtar boots have a zipper but the outer flap has 3 inch wide Velcro to keep them tight. The Ox's suck to walk in cause they're very stiff but on the bike they feel like bedroom slippers.
I had a pair of Redwings that lasted me many years of bike rallies walking for hours, and camping trips short hikes. Probably got 10 good years out of those boots before they needed to be resoled. The price of resoling wasn't worth it. I got the Ox's on closeout sale for 80 bucks - Retail was over 2 - smoking deal.

Why I'd never imply that sort of thing. Just because we use the whole forum like it's the chat room. :icon_cheesygrin:

I really like the boots Eddie and if I could find them in wide width I'd grab a pair.
