Kickstand...you'll be happier worrying about one bike. Yes I still have my 1983 and which is sitting covered in the shop part of my barn.
And by doing it like you are you should be able to offer a fair price and still make more then if you let her go in a trade. Dealerships literally rape you on trade in but its both KBB and NADA proces most often. Maybe the dea;lership gives some credit for any extra whats nots you've added but not always.
I know when I traded my 2001 Ultra and 1998 sidecar Ultra I lost easily 3-4000$ on the trade in versus resale value. The first offer was even worse. KBB trade in for both was $15,500. I was fortunate and ended up getting 18,500$. On the other hand I didn't want to F around with the trying to sell and for me the loss was acceptable for a quick grab and go sale.
A 2003 Heritage Softail Springer still commands a hefty price tag...retail value anyways; KBB has her at 14,150$. Trade in value would only be 10,425$..quite a difference. Good for you and good luck.
PM me if you're interested in another place to advertise along with craigs list. Adn by the way that 2003 Heritage is one nice looking bike.
