Couple years ago i was at a party. The woman who's house it was at had a cast on her arm. Find out she was in a really really bad accident, totaled her new Lexus. During the course of the day i talked to her. She was living large - new car - new phone... she was texting. She drifted left, across the road and hit a corvette. The Vette acted like a ramp and flipped the car over onto the roof and it slid for over a hundred feet down the street on its roof and hood. Thankfully no one was in the street or coming in the opposite direction.

I used to ride in the left side of the lane on 2 way roads. Now I ride on the right side of the lane just in case some one drifts while texting.

You can have it cheap.
You can have it fast.
You can have high quality.

Yeah tried to instill that in my kids when teaching them to drive...NOT to ride the yellow line cause you might meet someone doing the same thing. There have been more motorcyel related accidents here because of that combo or cyclist riding to the left of their lane and drivers of cars, young and old, riding and going over the yellow line.

To expect to be perfect is unreasonable, to strive for perfection is reasonable.

I love the open road in front of me and really don't like riding behind anything I cant see around. That said I think those days are going away quickly. I've been letting a car or two in front of me these days so they can ride blocker for me. I don't let suv's in front of me mostly because I cant see over them or through them. A pick up truck is easier to see over. I'd rather ride first and to the right then behind too large a vehicle.
I also find my mind wandering each time I see oncoming traffic about exit strategies. Is the shoulder firm enough to bail onto.
Not like it used to be - thats for sure - then we have DEER to contend with. Spikey headed badturds.
BTW-
Hope everyone in DEER country is having a safe season.
