Regardless of how hot but sneakers, shorts and tank top on an interstate going 70+mph in major congestion? Thats crack.
I know people that do it - no matter what you tell/warn them - they always know better.
I have a pair of leather touring pants - they weigh like 12 lbs. - I cant wear them unless I'm going on long trips or the weather is cooler to cold out. But on a cold night - they do the trick. I think I could jump off and slide home on those and not even feel the heat. They look like robo cop legs - along with my heavy leather touring jacket that weighs about 12 lbs. too, I'll tell you one thing- I feel nice and cozy almost dare I say - safe.
During the heat of a summer day in traffic I learned my limits - I was wearing my standard moto jacket and I almost passed out.
Heat exhaustion, I pulled over - parked - walked over to the 7-11 - got a huge cold drink - sat on a bench under a tree for about an hour. I packed my jacket and as soon as I got that cool air running over me I cooled right down. But to be cruising on the interstate I'd opt for my jacket... just sayin that I agree with you.
