i have a 1995 Electraglide Ultra classic. I had to put a new motor on it, 1340 built a little with S&S carbs. it has been spitting a lot!!!
i took the breather cover off and it seem to have a lot of a oiley gas mixture in the breather. Does anybody know whats causing this?
i put the motor on 2 yrs ago.

Now getting to your problem. Which isn't really a problem, what your talking about is "spooge" yes that is what it's called. The design of engine has a couple of tubes coming from the top of the heads and lead to your air cleaner. What this does and it works just like a "PVC" valve in your car. it sucks the gases that accumulate in your engine back into the engine through your carb. Sometimes you will have oil, condensation (water) and gas in your air cleaner. This is normal for a small amount to get through, if you have a lot then you may have to replace the umbrella valves in the head. This is a very easy job and if you can get the rocker box covers off then it will take only a minute.

There are other remedies to fix this problem and that is rerouting those tubes to a spooge can or just let it empty onto the ground under the bike.

What kind of riding have you been doing, lots of short trips can cause the motor to clog up.
