Here is a picture of my project in case anybody wants to feel sorry for me!! Actually, I'm posting this to remind everyone that on tear down, take pictures, lots and lots of pictures, pictures of you taking pictures, you can't have enough. Even the simplest part removal can get mixed up when your tear down and go-back extends for months and months, as mine has. And did I take any pictures, HELL NO!!
I'll get it though, just finishing complete wire harness.
I'll post another picture when it is looks like a motorcycle again.

I imagine there'd be a whole lot more wires if this was one of the modern computerized machines. Being it looks like an old shovel the mess looks pretty basic. Extra and many wires makes me nervous.

I still have my 1983 FLHS that I bought new for that reason. If all this new technology starts busting my balz I'm selling everything but the shovel. It only has electronic ignition and which can be switched back and forth to P/C easily. I like the kick and pussy button options.

Right now she's in the work shop in partial pieces, replacing transmission pulley. What are you doing to her so late into the winter months?

Take pictures, great advise and not only when you work on a bike.
I do that when ever I dis-assemble anything.

NICE bike, badinfluence, hope mine will resemble that one soon. Must have been the last year for shovelheads. What seat are you using, have to replace mine.
I've installed a 1 1/4" miniape to it, new front brake master cylinder, grips, new shocks, cleaned and polished most of the aluminum, and some chrome here and there. I didn't expect it to take this long, started in December just to fix a trans leak, main shaft oil seal, and things sort of got out of hand. Still waiting on paint to get done. I have a 92 softtail as a back up, but like riding this one more. It is more comfortable on the road.
