Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello from the Jersey shore, NJ (no not that god awful TV show).
Just finished purchasing my first Harley Davidson about an hour ago -- a 2012 Super Glide Custom.
Looking to the bike arriving next week and getting out on my first ride.

Charlie

Congrats on a wise purchase. Welcome to the HRF and where is a picture of said bike?

How do you expect to ride safely in that jungle of urban compact called New Jersey? Becareful how you dress while you ride you don't want to be mistaken for Pagan MC. I'd go with chaps, fingerless gloves and a doo rag to blend in,know what I mean?

LOL. Yikes, man, I didn't wear that stuff 'back in the day.' BTW, what do MoCo fingerless gloves go for nowadays? Eighty bucks? Man, we used to just cut the fingers off old gloves...

Thank you kind sir. Said bike is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday and I will post a pic as soon as I get my rear end in the seat. Unfortunately they did not have the color (Vivid Black, is there any other color?) I wanted but they had said bike on the way.

As for urban abyss of the Garden State, there are beautiful long stretches of road to ride here but I keep them secret to keep others from clogging up the roadways with the BMWs and the like. Not worried about being mistaken for a Pagen (I've got a smile, so that's a dead giveaway LOL). I'll also skip the chaps, unless I head over to Asbury Park ;) but I like the idea of fingerless gloves (just cut off the tips of my father's Totes, right?) and I don't have the dome for a doo-rag....LOL

Yeah black is known to be the fastest color too. That will come in handy.

Riding stretchs in New Jersey....would that include the Pine Barrens, known picnic area for the Soprano's and Associates, lol.? And you're but a stones throw from PA. And once you clear the congestion of NYC and get into central and northern New York its golden too.

Well I finally got a nice enough day to take the bike out for its first 100+ mile spin and to grab a few pics.
So here is said new bike, and I'm looking forward to playing hooky on Thursday for a much longer ride away from the concrete jungles of New Jersey.

Charlie,
Thanks for the update. Great looking bike. I know exactly how you feel. Can't seem to stay off it. Whenever I get a new bike I have to go out into the garage and just gaze at it every once in a while.

Hope you have a very enjoyable time on your new ride.

Ride safe.
