To expect to be perfect is unreasonable, to strive for perfection is reasonable.

Wow...what a pleasant surprise...she looks grand. I don't know Sportsters well. I did have a 1981 XLS Roadster for awhile. It was supose to be a "touring sportster" ala 3.5 gallon tank. It was stock 2 tone silver and grey. Did your bike come stock with the split tanks and the Electra glide looking speedo tank mount? And is the rear fender stock? Good looking bike.

It has a fatbob tank, fatbob rear fender, lower handlebars, solid cast rear wheel, tank dash, 1200 conversion, and MANY other custom parts. Soon to be an Arlen Ness Big Sucker Stage 2 filter kit installed. Here is a picture of what it looked like stock. I still have the original rear fender, exhaust and handlebars. The tank is long gone.
