Now, that dress designing forum that RK moderates, "Chic' Chintz," that worries me. I mean, granted, he's impeccably dressed, it just unnerves me...

I have a couple of guitar forums I used to go on. I met BI at another biker forum we both used to belong to. Well I still belong to it but don't post any more. I guess it's alright to hijack my own thread.

I don't think any kind of thread drift is the serious bugaboo folks make it out to be. Yikes, is having a complete conversation so "threatening" to bikers that we can't handle it? I see live conversations change course three or four times over one beer.

As for BI63, I need him here, and I miss him. Like in any gathering, there are clown princes like me, and then there is the 'heart' of any bike group. Somebody who keeps you honest, and never let's you forget why you ride. Without him making an appearance so often I sometimes feel rudderless.

I guess this is the price we pay for 'winter.' I need that little Sportster so bad I'm surprised I haven't kicked somebody's ass out of boredom.

I'm so used to Arizona I keep forgetting other guys are snowed in. We have at least 340 days of good riding down here. That is why you don't see as many Arizona guys on forums. They can't read or right because they'er always out riding... I do agree with what you said on one of your other thread about it not being about the biker brother but being about compassion. It's the human thing to do to stop and help people. This world has forgotten that. My wife and I have never considered ourselves bikers.We are jut a couple who loves riding, feeling the wind against our faces, our bike of choice currently happens to be a Harley. We don't care if we are thought of a bikers or posers or whatever. We don't subscribe to that argument. We've played enough of those games in our younger years.

What you're doing is being a biker--I just have crappier clothes than you do!

When I was a pre-prospect, I had a cloth coat and a skid bar. My one claim to fame was actually talking to an outlaw at the bike shop we frequented. I was one high-side wreck away from being a total tube. I needed a mentor. I got several mentors. And I have the boot prints on my ass to prove it.

I believe that bikers are born, not made. You might be in the rough or clueless, but when you see a newb that has potential you don't need to see him wrapped in leather. Heck, I didn't trust (nor could I stomach) half of the club I rode with. I rode for the privilege of being with brothers, and the experience(s) changed my life.

You have to remember, BI63 and I have never met. However, his attitude comes through in his telephone calls and in his prose here. We're going to meet this summer. And I'll take him to my bike shop, sadly my club doesn't seem to ride together as group much anymore. They've lost "the spark." They hold meetings on Sunday afternoon, and that concerns me.

Torches get passed. The 1960s are over. I want to relax a bit more and care a little less about the world and life on a bike. If people don't know where I'm coming from by now, they never will.
