My 08 FXDB with about 35,000 hard miles is running like a dying dog. I get error codes indicating a low (lean) condition on both O2 sensors, also an intermitten EFI error. I recently replaced intake gaskets & this didn't help a bit. I have had some problems with trash in my gas tank requiring removal of fuel pump & cleaning the intake sock & the cartridge filter located inside the pump. Any suggestions?

Just a thought maybe the injectors themselves are clogged? Some of that small trash that was in your tank got through the filter and into the injector to clog it up. Maybe try to run some injector cleaner in your tank? Keep us updated as to how this is working out for you.

Or could be loose wires to the injectors or the pump?

Good luck hope you find the problem.

tried injector cleaners several times, seemed to help for the first couple of times. This has been an ongoing problem for about 6mos. gradually getting to the point that it was unridable. Seems to me the o2 sensors both showing a lean condition seems to point to a fuel delivery problem, also the intermittent EFI errror seems to point the same direction. Hopefully this week my check will be good enough for motorcycle parts. If the head of finances at home smiles on me I'll just bite the bullet & visit my neighborhood HD shop & buy the damn thing & give it a shot. Thanks I'll keep you posted

I have a thought. Yes, I actually sit down and cogitate once in a while.

For example, some companies sell "downloads" for modified engines that just fool the CPU into a different fuel/air mixture. Their premise is that they trick the engine to running better.

Is it possible that your engine is okay, and a faulty CPU/program is tricking the motor to run poorly?

How much was the new pump? Were you able to find the problem yourself or did you have to have help finding the problem(dealer/pro wrench)?
Glad to hear you got it fixed.
