I own a 2007 Ultra.I plan on making a few changes over the winter. just wondering if anyone on here knows which stock harley seats will fit my Ultra.Plan on removing the trip pak an lowering the back. We do a lot of 500 to 700 hundred mile trips . so i want to keep the pillow seat 4 those...but around town i want a lower sleeker seat for not a whole lot of money.any ideas thanks Rebel.

you can go to E-bay and find seats. You will need to go to the MFG site to see if they will fit. I have a solo seat for my ultra...

I'm also a firm believer in treating bikes as a "total unit." Let me explain.

I am very dissatisfied with the cheap suspensions Harley puts on their bikes. It's the old game of "over sprung and under dampened." Additionally, the seat on my Sportster was like riding a wet brick. Something had to change.

I did what you are doing now--research. Not only did I change out the seat, but I replaced the rear shocks and ultimately the rear wheel. In like fashion, I also replaced the shocks and front end on my Dyna.

To me it makes sense. If we are going to spend long periods on the road, not only do we want a better seat, but we also do not want to constantly get hit in the tail because of a crappy suspension. The silver lining is that you can buy shocks in any length you want from numerous manufacturers.

All you need is a copper mousetrap and you're good to go... :icon_winking:

Well, it's like I told a new "biker" here, I could buy the one made from resin. But let's be honest, in a perfect world even Peter Fonda's 'Captain America Bike' would have a copper mousetrap, don't you agree?

C'mon, if an HRF member doesn't have an opinion on the copper one, he shouldn't be here. And it looks like that newb 'biker' got the hint.

happy to help, and for what it is worth.... I have no idea what the hell a copper mouse trap is. I believe it has something to do with the clutch. I just think it is funny to wach Tourist ask people and their reaction. For all i know it is like a muffler bearring...

Now, never belittle the humble copper mousetrap. It got rid of a poser, didn't it? BTW, I did write about the origins of the infamous "CM," and I hope it gets a laugh.

I went with the reach seat cause I am 5'7. Moves ya down 1.5 inchs and forward 1.5 inchs. In a perfect woprld I'd like the air zeplin....

When lowering look at the progressive shocks. And if money is no concern HD offers this killa pneumatic system. At the push of a buttin it lowers you. Push another button and it raises you. The buttons are mounted on the hamdle bars and look like they belong there.
