Sometimes it's hard to find people to ride with,if you have friends you can call an ask if they want to do a weekend ride or just go for a day trip,an they are ready and willing you're lucky.There's nothing like the feeling of a few good friends sharing the road.......but in a lot of cases ,seems like a lot of my friends don't ride they just own.You don't have to be a badass to own a Harley,but you have to ride it to be a Harley rider.Do you own a Harley or do you ride a Harley. Guess i need to find new friends .curvy roads to everone and Merry Christmas.

I know what you are getting at, I ride year round unless it rains or there's ice. I have 2 partners I run with and both ride every chance they get as well.On the other hand, I have a neighbor that in '09 bought a brand new RK. I bet the bike doesn't have 2000 miles on it, seriously, all he ever does is wash and wax it. It's the darndest thing I have ever seen, the few times I've seen him ride it, his wife follows him out the drive in her car. Holy cow, it's like she's watching the poor guy while he's riding or something.

I don't understand it, why spend the money on an expensive piece of eye candy unless you're gonna get laid.

You may as well find yourself a good stand by your man woman and resign yourself to her as your best riding partner,lol. Theres worse things.

I don't know how old you are, I am 55 and the majority of HD owners my age don't ride far or much. They just always wanted a Harley and now finally got one. The worst ones are the ones who buy used and high miliage bikes and brqag they put the miles on...I shit you not.

Me I ride the focking tires off. I know I'm eventually gonna run out of 2 wheeled time as I observed my father and his friends eventually did. I know I do so staring down the fates....its crazy out there. Try riding I-70 thru Indianapolis or that stretch of I-80 between Des Moines and West Des moines its like riding a gautlet or potential hazards.

lol you're right. my wife is my riding partner.All i have to do is grab my helmet an she's right beside me.after she does her hair of course.yea i know... does'nt make sense to me either.girl thing i guess. But she love's to ride as much or more than i do.When we head out to Sturgis she will be on the back. Around 1800 miles out there...of the people we ride with,she's the only one i can count on to say' let's go'

The only thing keeping us from riding even more than we do is our work schedule and having to always arrange for the 2 dogs and cat while we are away. The 3 weeks we were away on the california ride our 26 yo son watched the house and our bottom line was not to burn it down while we were gone.

We took it one step further, My wife took the motorcycle safety course 9 years ago and has been riding her own bike since. She started out with a 400 or 500 cc Honda (don't remember exact cc, it was a physically small bike) and she now has her own Softail Custom ( 96B w/six speed) and she loves to ride as much as I do and riding together has been the greatest thing that ever happened to our marriage, we are closer now than anytime during our 35 year marriage and it gets better with every ride. Nothing more fun than looking in the mirror and seeing her behind me grinning from ear to ear, does my heart good.

Funny, my wife and I had this conversation yesterday.

Heck, I think that not everyone should drive a car. People seem to think that just turning 16 should automatically come with a drivers license. But I got a real scare yesterday.

I know dozens of folks at the gym, and one of them is kind of a buddy, client, fellow gym rat. When the CCW provision first went into effect, he asked a lot of gun questions. He now has his license. He bought a Glock 21, a .45 ACP automatic, and frankly a big gun for a newb. He is now asking rookie questions, but carries the pistol, and has only a few boxes of cartridges through it. We talked about FF and FE. He asked me directly why I always began with "drop the magazine."

Yikes. He's a good guy, but in way over his head. He asked what my carry gun was, and I told him a CZ 83. He asked about the caliber, and I told him it was a .380 ACP. That confused him, but I explained that just how many of the 12 shots would I need at seven feet, the average distance of an exchange. He was actually amazed at 'The Tueller Drill.'
