In that case, there are several companies that make "new crate engines" that look like pans and knuckles. In many cases, we have to use some new, old style parts anyway to keep things running. Either that or spend all of our free time at flea markets.

I often see lots of examples in bike magazines of those who spent years researching, and then locating, original parts to restore old bikes. That's not where I'm headed. I just saw an article on a guy who makes parts to replace the old exhaust ports to rebuild flatheads.

Even the most modern era original pan is over 40 years old. There's going to be a rebuild of something.
