My name is David or Rebel I answer to both.Been riding since i was about 12.started out on a honda 175. then up to a 305 superhawk.been riding Harley's for awhile now.currently own a Ultra Classic..like most on here i work for a living so i don't get to ride as much as i would like to.My wife an i try to do a couple road trips a year. the best ride was 2009 in December we left central North Carolina an spent two weeks riding around south Fla using Key West as a staging area.great riding down there.we do Daytona ever year either bike week or biketoberfest.Use to go to Myrtle till they said they did not want us there.Planning on Sturgis this year.good LORD willing.oh yea i forgot 2 mention broke my right leg in 3 places Sept 24, day after my birthday . made a right hand turn on a side street with my wife on back.hit some loose gravel on the road.rear wheel tried to come out from under me so i put my foot down to catch the bike.i kept us from going down but really screwed up my leg.i have about 6 more weeks before mobile again ,well anyway rambling on so hello to everone.glad to be a member.

If when you lost traction and you were on a Ultra why didn't you let those engine guards and saddle bag guards save your leg? Ultra is about 800 lbs. Insurance would have made your bike like new...hows your leg? Get rods put in?

Someday consider getting a pair and crossing the mason/dixon line and attending Laconia or Harley Rendezvous. Yankees don't bite...much.

hindsight is 20/20.my wife was on back an i guess it was just a reaction on my part,lol i reacted without thinking,if i could do it over......would not make that right turn ...but i did... i did not want the bike to go down with her on it.never seen her get off the bike that quickly an get the stand down.end the aftermath no scratches on her or the bike,rather hurt myself than her.....never hear the end of it

Badinflunce did have a rod put in from knee down ,plates at ankle an knee .it's a shame it was 70 degrees here yesterday.could ve been riding. 68 today may have to sneak out

Couple 2-3 years ago and when I first upgraded to my current Ultra I was coming back from Canada heading South on I-95 in Maine. Wife was on the back. I wasn't use to the dynamics of the Ultra just yet (it took me a good while to become proficient,I don't know why?) having only ridden it maybe 2-3 weeks at the time. That fairing and tour pack 2 up is a lot to adjust to after having ridden a rigid for 25+ years...really different. Any who we had exited for lunch. The exit road was concaved like a 1/2 moon at the stop sign with me right of the center. I'm leaning left to counter the angle and my wife was leaning right thinking the passenger is suppose to lean with the bike. Between her off set weight and the load on the bike we fell over just like the guy on the tricycle on Rowan and Martin's Laugh In...all tangled in the commo wire. I was laughing my arse off. Cars were lined up behind us,people were stopping to assist. Luckily before we left I had reviewd the proper technique for lifting an Ultra and I walked her up no problem. No damage to the bike or us. When I got home I watched a couple "Ride like a Pro" videos and I been fine.

Ooooo..thats gonna be a muther when you get older. I have 2 pins in my left wrist from a motorcycle accident and in the damp or cool weather it achs.

Well I'm sorry to hear that happened to you, good to hear you're gonna get back on the horse that threw ya. How do you think that will affect you ability with regards to your leg holding a weight bearing situation?
