While the lounge is technically for speaking what ever is on your mind I appreciate the powers that be here allowing us this hospitality. I have been in other forums where dispite it being for speaking your mind the locking and banning sword was swung widely and wildly.

The major difference between now and then is now many if not most who ride Harleys are 1st time late in life owners, use to own speed/fishing boats, use to ride rice rockets, middle class lacking the wow factor in their life and wanting to buy into that weekend biker outlaw life that HD MOCO sells with each bike and have no clue about the that afore mentioned lifestyle they bought into. For them its buy a Sportster/cruiser/bagger,a doo rag, azzless chaps,fingerless gloves and when around all your friends talk loud and ignorantly, I mean isn't that what we're suppose to do? And God bless them for having ht egood sense to at least have picked the best made motorcycle,lol.

And that mentality is what in my experiences pervades most motorcycle forums.

What to do? What is the proper behavior for someone who is new to a school or new to a job or new to a neighborhood bar? Is it to conduct oneself like a bull in a china closet causing problems, alienating ones self and making enemies? Or hang in the back keeping your mouth shut until you figure out the lay of the land and slowly esconce ones self gently and knowledgably? The www has created a very slipper slope of a lack of accountability.

And this, we agree. And I think it's great that all facets of motorcycling get to speak. And I sincerely feel that a lot of what MoCo's advertising boasts about is just another example of "grandfather's clothes."
