My brother is rehabbing a 1968 FLH. He took it all the way down, bought a new wiring harness, etc. and has decided to upgrade the electronics. He picked up a Cycle Electric alternator and wants to hook it up with minimal splices. Any ideas as to what would be the least intrusive way to wire it without later regrets? :icon_sos:

I have looked at the schematics for the bike but have not been over to actually see the new harness or alternator on the bike. On the surface, it does not seem it should be too rough. I personally have never been down that road and was hoping some of the more mechanically talented riders might provide some useful hints that have worked before.

I did go to the Cycle Electric website, but was disappointed to not find anything useful. :icon_frown:

never did it, but I always use a manual.
Follow the directions... carefully, and if you take your time working in bikes isn't that hard.

You can have it cheap.
You can have it fast.
You can have high quality.
PICK ANY 2....

I have always respected the power of the book. I did find the basic schematic of the bike but nothing from Cycle Electric about their alternator functioning in a '68 FLH. :icon_sad:
