As a palpable explaination I think it comes down to this.....when provoked or confronted by an alternative opinion/word we can try to make the extra effort and look past the person and try to see why the person has this alternative opinion, thought or in your case...a word. Unfortunately most do not. Especially people in a power position such as a MOD or an admin of a forum.

Its easier to ban and strokes ones ego quicker to regale and relish the accomplishment of banning rather that being constructive or being a brother.

Motorcycle forums espouse to inject brotherhood? Some say they do. But hey its a freaken forum, lol. And try as hard as anyone might you ain't establishing no for realsy brotherhood on the internet. Its not happening. Unfortunately folks think, out of the need to belong to something, fool themselves into thinking they have. To thine own self be true.

You are absolutely right. However, I feel elated for no logical reason.

Consider a parallel, an analogy. For the 100th time a drunken townie breathes on you, "You bikers think you're all so tough." In most cases you peacefully steer him back to the little puddle of pee and vomit from which he came. Then sometimes you hear this little 'pop' behind your ear over your mastoid bone and you slam the idiot around the saloon like a ping-pong ball.

In effect, that's what I did here. The moderator puffed himself up, told me to take an unjust ruling or he was going to make trouble for me. Not this time. Look, I knew the little Hitler was probably going to win on paper, or in this example, in cyber space.

Well, not this time. His entire forum knows I asked for a ruling and got banned for no reason. Screw him. Sometimes losing is better than winning, it exposes the bully for who he is. You cannot believe how good I feel.

No doubt, but I was in this blue funk, and I needed a fresh perspective. I just didn't get up one morning and feel a little edgy, it was long in coming. Sometimes you just go for a drink in another saloon.

I'm not sure those 'other places' exist anymore. Hence the name 'tourist.' I think the real solution is to adapt my predicament into solutions in the here and now. Granted, I'm not going to wear a pink tutu and begin interior design work, but like I always tell the newbs, the 1960s are over.

I needed to test myself and prove a point. I did that. Perhaps a fresh perspective was the ultimately the best answer.

Further the more unscrupulous admins and mods of some of these forums will manipulate the board data....ergo deleting posts and entire threads, reading your PM's,assume your identity and over all completely changing the original land scape and lie and deny it.

Thats why one should be very careful and realistic when it comes to boards and cyber biking. The posters are at the complete mercy of the character or lack of, of the boards admin/mods.

Of course, you remember Mr. Spock telling Kirk about an old Vulcan adage, "Only Nixon can go to China."

Well, cyber bikers, chest-thumping moderators and being banned means nothing to me. I could have my lap-top completely destroyed by lightning, and the only thing that would mattter to me is the season opener of "NCIS" tonight.

In effect, "Only The Tourist can rip into a lying moderator." I'm the perfect guy for this job.

Look, I know these a-holes come here to lurk. For all I know this mod, Dr. Doolittle, has a sock-pocket account here. Clearly, he is not an old school biker, he is not a soprano in a choir, he's not even a prospective soprano if you get my drift. Guys that seek out the substandard work he provides are usually the guys picked last in softball. Otherwise he wouldn't form a committee for a decision to ban me, he would have asked for bus money from his mom and come to Madison to try and wrinkle my Dockers.

In a nutshell cyber biking is a slippery slope with no quarantees except the will of the admin/owner be done. And as we all will eventually come to see at some point in time, is contingent on the moral fiber or again the the lack of said moral fiber of the owner/admin.

Its bad ju-ju. Its not for everyone. Its not for me.

You stop posting here and I'm gone too.

LOL. Fair enough. I just got back from a brief ride on Spinner, and I'm having a second perfect latte' while I do work. Oh, BTW, I'm going to post a thread on that little jaunt.

New guy today and I 'll jump right in here.
I just dropped in here and saw this post and wanted to say that if you play in someones back yard you play by their rules. So many internet guys like to create a problem for others on a web site and if you can't play by their rules, just take your toys and move on instead of getting into it with a moderator.
I have seen this so many times when someone tries to over rule the rules and it never seems to work out no madder how much they try. Their next step is to go complain on another forum and call someone names because YOU screwed up!. It's truly pathetic to see something like this happen and it's always the other guy that was the jerk, never the person that was banned.

Makes me laugh when I see a post like this, I sure hope not all you guys are so panty wasted like this or I'll be out of here like a flash.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Guarantee that the new guy is from the "other forum" and had to use his 1st post to:1)defend his lack of character rather than proper protocol in the new member section(its okay for him to break rules, just others are cry babies if they beg to differ with a mod, typical bad mod/admin mentality of do what I say not what I do.) 2)isn't satisfied with emminent domain over to his place 3)is here to cause the trouble he so passionately says other do.

New guy, you make me laugh to see posts like yours. Mostly because it is inaccurate. I do agree that as soon as a poster notices a squed, biased and undemocratic atmospere to leave and not continue to subject themselves to the abuse and to pretend its nothing.

But please continue to stand down and feel free to espouse your opinions. Know that some may agree and some may not agree and challenge you but unlike where you come from, we are not like you and you will not penalized nor banned for having a diference of opinion. We're not like that here. We embrace the true spirit of the Harley riders of old (while we may not agree, we will defend your right to have your say and we fo' sure won't ban you because your opinion is different) and not the pussified politically correct just add water and stir new cyber riders of today and how you run your forum.

While your opinion is different and varied hopefully you can acclimate here and learn something ethical. The worst are the forums who manipulate people by throwing the word "brotherhood" around. They are taking advantage of naive newbies who so desparately want to belobg to something, anything....... know what I mean...I knew that you could!

So far this place has been a breathe of fresh air compared to so many other forums. You can vent with a certain degree of support.

Please don't bring your forums taint and stain here. Take your own advice :

Isn't it amazing when someone posts their views, they are always from the "other forum" I thought I could speak freely here without having judgement passed on me for stating facts.

As far as your "protocol" , If it makes you ecstatic with joy, I'll post in that section when I get around to it. I guess that will be looked down on too that I didn't do that first before replying here.

Kind of sensitive for a bunch of "bikers".
