I read the news stories on yahoo sometimes and at the end there is a section for people to leave comments, I believe that also has to be a pulse of the people. there will be hundreds of comments and as I go down them I'll see hidden due to negative ratings, you can un-hide them and read them but this just shows how a differing opinion is removed. I'll also read now and then a complaint against the censor on the yahoo...
Keep in mind that what might be OK at a cooking forum wouldn't flush here.... There is an innate difference between the mindset of a kitchen rat and a road rat. I've come to expect kitchen behavior from most of the world, I'm just plain lucky to have some road rats to talk to here.

Hmmm, overall I agree. But when a chef is more likely to ruin your reputation and be duplicitous, but the biker will always have your back, well, our society is in the dumper for sure. When I still lived at home my Dad said that Vegas was safer when the Mafia ran it. Waitresses tell me that bankers grab their butts more than bikers. I'm finding that high society has some pretty low standards.

I'm just going to find another cooking forum. I'm still interested in the craft. I guess the world is full of stupid townies, now I find out that one of them is a moderator. No offense...

You're retired...start your own cooking and Harley forum and run it your way. Every thought of that? Throw your hat in the form admin ring and rock on with your badself..I'd support you.

Also I want to point out that you put in an awful lot of effort, time and sweat equity here...sure hope the juice is worth the squeeze and that you are appreciated rather then viewed as a viable and disposable and replaceble commoditie.

Eh, life is a crap-shoot. If left alone, I would love to be connected to cooking--like in being Cat Cora's personal knife polisher!

You did point out one important aspect, that being I am retired. I have to keep reminding myself that from now on the most important thing in my life is the cost of Bug Slide.

In the end, my goal now is to secure fewer goals.

You're just figuring that out now? More money less morals.

The world has already had a-holes, and I always had hopes. Ya' know, every generation always believes that their younger generation is taking them to ruin. I just never thought we were this close.

Dragging a footpeg is millimeters away from sticking one. Slight difference in feel, big difference in outcome.

You have to live by your code, do what you can while the ball is in your hand.

BI63 and I have discussed this very thing numerous times on the telephone. It is both a pet peeve and a regret. You could 'sell' a brother vital engine parts for a down-scooter and consider it money in the bank. In fact, you sometimes even hear this principle discussed as "the old code."

After all, you will want someone to come to your aid in the middle of a rainy night, and clearly two can take a beating better than one. It seems so obvious to me. However, the 1960s are over.

Now, a younger fraternity brother has owed me 20 bucks for over a year and probably has forgotten. We shrug now, but under the old code we would have "asked for our fraternity ring back" if you catch my drift.

I'm a few years younger than you guys but my Pop brought me up old school WWII principles. My old neighborhood was reputation based, if you were a F' up you got treated like one from everyone, conversely if you took care of business and were a "stand up guy" you got treated like one.

Growing up you see the difference and learn young to be the "stand up guy". People were responsible for all their actions AND words. You talked sh!t you either backed it up or you ate it. By the time I got involved in the motorcycle lifestyle I had been schooled for years in the code and I was a natural.

If you ever saw that movie "A Bronx Tale" that was a lot like my old neighborhood, and one of the many lessons "reminded" to us was if a guy owes you up to $20, more you crack bones but up to 20 it's a lesson learned and worth 20 bucks for that guy to never bother you again for money.
If he ever does you just "remind" him that with the vig he's up to 40... :icon_cool_too:
