Ok so if we vote yes, do we also get to suggest a name?

Wow, that idea got legs in a big hurry! Is that prudent?

Like any other minor issue that effects bikers, I *assumed* we would get a few threads per month on simple recipes and ideas, like for barbeque sauces. After all, we only get a few threads on Sportsters. We already have an "off topic" section, and I got the idea that Headmaster wanted a little more structure to our threads. (And I'm lukewarm on that idea.)

Sure, cooking is fun. But is there that much support for an entire section? What's your feeling on this, RK?

I've seen some pretty cool stuff come out of a saddle bag at a campsite. The thought I was warm to was how making good tasting lets say "healthier" food than fast grease in a wrapper offers. Adding an exchange of info from one road warrior to another on whats better fried spam or dog food...
My personal favorite is one knife Denty Moore Beef Stew, Tourist, I'll let you in on a little secret, I don't really use a knife to open the can.
I've seen people pull out little camp stoves and cookware and make -quickly- a real meal in minutes out there on the road. I thought *really* that some of that kind of help with cooking would be cool. Having a separate topic means we can access the info faster/easier than trying to go through all the "Lounge" threads or memory.
Knowledge is power. Just watching TV I learned that Gator is tasty, I'd like to eat one of them. Maybe one of our southern members has a good way to make it, so when I'm down their way I can try some...LOL
Good Eats, i'm changing my suggestion.

Okay, I get it now--a separate section would be a good area. Truth be told, I always carry a fork, and just bought a new little knife of CPM-440V with a 2.5 inch blade and a pocket clip that can be installed for the left or right hand. My wife is a leftie, and we now are prepared for eating on the fly.

I'm not the 'tailgating' type, but I do eat in odd places. Madison has an annual "Taste of Harley" where numerous restaurants and bikini-chicken-wings places bring food. All of the so called utensils are plastic.

I am cooking more for myself. I lost a ton of weight, and I'm not going to make the same mistakes again. If I don't know what's in food, I don't eat it. I should have scrutinzed the attributes of women for problems in my youth with the same zeal, but I digress.

I will say this. "Nothing white." Fresh and uncooked is best. Choosing some foods yourself (lettuce, bananas, pre-cut salad fixings, etc.) is key. Prepare your own ingredients. And get your fat ass to the gym.

Hiring professsional knife sharpeners cannot be stressed too much. But again, I digress.

Speaking of carrying silverware, I got the(campers special, button hole together) spoon, fork and knife(serrated butter style) I carry in the saddle bag... hey you never know that life's going to throw at ya, and a day out and about means fueling up more than the bike.

See, you guys love cooking, as well.

I also had a "nested set" of camping utensils and a blood needed them. I like folders betterr anyway, and duh it's part of my job to find stuff like this. The wife's a leftie, I fold a CPM-440V example, etc.

And I agree, you never know what's coming. RK, we'll dine with metal, the pikers dine with plastic. Most guys I know eat everyday, so you'd think this would be clear.

BTW, I love tollhouse cookies, myself. It's been three years since I had one.
