In reality, what would we do with more money? Buy another pair of crusty bluejeans? A new pair of boots that will take a year out of our lives to break in? More chrome covers?

I was packing to go to the gym this morning, and I noticed a few dollar bills had fallen between the washer and the dryer. Obviously 'pin money' from my wife's latest journey to 'Chippendales.' (The bills were slightly damp and smelled like cheap cologne, and my Uncle Carmine had not been to town in quite a while.)

My wife and I went out to a coffee bar tonight and I handed the bills back, no question. Too much to hide, not enough to kill for.

If you've found one you like why be greedy. At best it turns into a crap shoot and pitfall when you start poking around the WWW, especially the multi bike ones . Those are a slow and painful death with you the HD rider getting the shat end of the stick.

So MattSuperlow if you like it here hunker down for the long hall and make some new friends and learn stuff. The forums that have a true community sense to them, like this one, do better. And never forget.....nothing, absolutely nothing is 110%. So post here with a reasonable plus minus of expectations. Nobody nowhere is perfect,so don't expect it to be. However this place is better then most.

Good advice, it's a fight till the end. I just dumped another forum this morning. It's a risk/return equation for me. I ask myself, "What do you want to do more, ride a beautiful Harley-Davidson, or argue with idiots?"

I thought about that for a nano-second, and then hit the "favorites delete" key.

A computer to me is just a big dumb adding machine. And when I'm done "adding" I shut it off.

These motorcycle forums, in theory, can be a better way then bar hopping to meet and make new road dog riding friends, to a point. That was my middle aged, aproaching senior citizen status thoughts about it. A fountain of usefull information, a boon to motorcyclist everywhere.

Instead holy shit and WTF batman and batgirl. Thats right and batgirl too....some of these motorcycle forums out there in the big wide WWW are truly a double edged sword of intrepidation. Platforms for maniacal and dictatorial agenda's of one upmanship chest pounding. I can't stand it. Oppressing freedom of speech as simple as another opinion on a topic and hiding under the guise of keeping it clean. I can guarantee you that things that have been said and done to me over the WWW would have only partially gotten out of their mouths in person.

Wheres the focking brotherhood? Somebody tell me where is the brotherhood, you know that word that gets thrown around all the motorcycle forums carelessly?

If the motorcycle forums of today are a reflection of the types of bikers out there we're screwed. Just blow us all up now. Scams, scoundrels, puzzy boys and jerk offs abound.

I posted this here because I don't mean here. My only bone of contention here was that it's a little slow at times. Thats not such a bad thing.

I sure hope our forum knows that. And I also hope that we attract the guys who believe in what you just pointed out.

Let's be frank, even now I'm having trouble in another forum. It seems "the new black" is just typing rage from their mom's basement. And we all know--especially the flamer--that their conduct would never be tolerated face-to-face.

I would like to think that bikers don't get caught up in that, although I know they do. Even my own circle of friends lament that some of the new guys just want the status. More to the point, I never see any of them ride, at all. The last time I saw one of them on the road he was alone and tragically that was over one month ago.

And we all know how I feel about a newb "wearing his grandfather's road clothes" thinking it instantly makes him a biker. As if I cannot tell fresh ink at my age. I was fortunate to see the end of that golden age, and I can attest to the fact that newbs and my mentors are a totally different breed.

But look at the bright side. The kids you detest are clearly not us. And it makes them so different that we can never be tarred with the same brush with which people judge them.

You guys, have the real view of what's going on. And it seems today, that we may be getting a little bit more participation from some new people that are riders on our forum here.
I agree with the points made, I also believe that as the gatekeepers of not only this forum but personally in our own lives to make sure the newbs in our care learn it the right way and keep the flame burning bright for the way the life is supposed to be. Trust in your brother. Take no disrespect and give none. Fight when you can. Run when you see the cops... LOL.

Where is everyone from in this forum? Or where do you guys like to ride? I don't have many friends that ride and unfortunatly ride bymyself for the most part. It seems no one my age is buying the harleys or really anything that I know of, maybe some street bike style ones, but I have only a couple friends that actually ride around me. I guess I just need to start going to the right place meeting the right people.
