A jig in New Orleans

Hey bros...

I am rebuilding my old '56 HD FLH Panhead (with Shovel top). I have a lot of work to do on it. She hasn't run in 17 years. Since I'm stripping her all the way down, I want to stretch & rake the frame. Problem is I don't know anybody with a jig in the New Orleans area. Any suggestions?

If all else fails and you can't find anyone with the jig you need, I've seen where people have made a jig out of wood. Especially if you only need to use it once. They mounted the jig on a sheet of 3/4" plywood and built it up from that. Sorry I don't have any more info but you can do a net search for instructions on how to build it.

Just a thought you may not want to chop up that vintage frame. You can buy a new frame just the way you want it from an aftermarket company. Might be around the same price that it would be if you had the work done to the frame..

To a RESTORER that old frame is probably worth 2x a brand new one.

Come 5 years from now you may want to restore it to its original shape. That could be worth big $$$$$$. Keep us updated! Like to see the progress with it. :icon_thumbsup:
