Is your lamp one of Harley's new high-output units? Like this:

If so, there is a recall on the early units.

Okay, now I'm confused.

This afternoon (while watching 'Sith, Episode III') I see this commercial for some kind of polish or cleanser that makes dull headlights clear. It goes on the outside of the light.

The OP said inside.

RK, from your comment and his low post count, I assume that this guy with the inside cleaner is a spammer. Am I right, or did I miss something really obvious?

I meant he asked his question - no one was here to give him instant gratification and he left... hence -gone.

I know the commercial you're talking about, the car headlights that have that clear plastic cover that haze over after time. The paste is rubbing compound and basically you sand off the haze to get a somewhat clearer cover. I believe your answer was what he was looking for, he probably checked back and "forgot" to thank you for your help.

Okay, no prob.

I do have to admit that it's been a weird few weeks here at HRF. WTF? Did they fluoridate the water again? It appears answering a post can open a can of worms. I've had my share of foggy headlamps on cars, trucks and bikes. In the old days they might even take a thin bit and tap a small hole in the plastic lens to vent the moisture. And you know the story of Spinner's lamp.

I must admit, I just didn't think a foggy lamp would ever be an issue to anyone for any reason. On the old Sporties the stock 4" lamp was the same one they used on 1935 Fords. I used to buy them at Farm n' Fleet. If those fogged up, I just threw them away...

As you can see, 1 question, and I guess if he ever has any more questions he won't have any problems coming back and asking...
