Since you can only get out of a community what you put in, let me offer the following link to stock handlebar measurements. Just a site I happened across and wanted to share. Besides, I read the sticky and I am trying to get to 20 posts so I can start asking questions about my 07 Heritage. Just kidding. Although I didn't get an Owner's manual so I may need some info in the future. :)

I must admit skepticism about your intentions. If you have a question just ask it.

The overall idea here in motorcycling is several key components. That being handlebars, foot pegs and a seat. First off, the basics.

Handlebars, by nature of the noun, utilize the 'hand.' Footpegs utilize the 'foot.' And the idea of a seat applies to your keester. Attaching the foot elements to your saddlebag mounts makes shifting quite difficult.

Bikes have differing uses. What works on a cafe racer does not work on a touring bike.

As to your post count, I don't give it a flying fig. My personal belief is that entering a forum is like becoming a prospect. Some guys do it in a manner of weeks, some suffer for months. Lots get kicked to the curb. In a bike forum we should have the same standards.

You want to impress us, and this forum is definitely worth the energy, then act like it. You'll meet lots of guys who are passionate, knowledgeable motorcyclists. For me 20 posts does not mean a thing. It will hinge on your conduct, or I won't answer a flippin' thing. We've been going through a patch of users, losers and posers, and I'm growing tired of stumbling over the debris.

Excuse me for trying to contribute something and not just take away. I really have no intentions of asking any questions. The internet is one of the most unreliable sources of information there is.
Having been a forum administrator of an international gaming server for the last 5 years, I know how hard it can be to get quality content from quality posters.
So maybe I'm not like all the other noobs that think forums are for culling information. Maybe I thought I would actually contribute something, but hey, if it is not appreciated or welcome I will find some place where it is.

I appreciate your posts, and keep 'em coming. I keep a close eye on this forum I noticed you signed up weeks before your first post and when you did you had a avatar and you actually made a good impression on me and the admins. Not only that but YOU READ the other threads before you made new ones.

This forum mirrors real life and motorcycling. I can't speak for the others and I never would, but in a world full of crap, proving you have good intentions means being consistent in the face of adversity. I'm thinking you're a real guy with good intentions so when "we", the gate keepers set the bar high, it's to keep this forum a place where we can come and not be overwhelmed by the "others" that only ruin and detract from "OUR Passion" - Motorcycling.

I still want to payback that neighbor and hope you'll give me the real zinger to get him.

psychodad1961, you should know that RK treats the members here better than I do. He's proven he's a good guy. I am not. I don't think making two posts and commenting on our forum's system of conduct is a topic you get to discuss right now. You're a prospect. Prospects by definition 'learn.'

If you're as squeaky clean as you say, in a few months we'll all know it. If not, RK will pull your plug after the rest of us have shunned you. I make no apologies for a system such as this. It's the way we live on our bikes, and our forum should reflect those values.

Now, newb, anything else you want to say to my face?

I didn't come here to be insulted. I have been riding for 35 years and am very passionate about riding. Apparently this forum is only passionate about being exclusive. And with the attitudes on here I can say it will be a very small and exclusive forum.

lets take a breath here, getting razed and insulted are two different things. Tourist is doing his thing but if you read his posts he isn't insulting you. He is watching your and my and everyone that is and will come here backs. I personally would love and I mean that, LOVE to sit on a bar stool next to you guys and trade tales of adventures. You can't tell me that you never had anyone say to you in the middle of a good story -NO WAY Man!!- was he calling you a liar .... nah, just busting hump. We're bikers, we love hard, we ride hard and we fight at the drop of a hat... thats life baby...
Truth is - a couple of my best friends met with my fist first, before they met my friendship. Respect is earned so don't quit just cause someone called you out. Fight for what you love, or you'll lose it.

We love our forum, we welcome new members with open arms and hearts, just lately we've been overwhelmed by new members that don't share our cause/love/passion/life... so don't hate the gatekeepers for making the standards high - and if that is what you meant by making this exclusive than you are spot on.

Welcome to the forum and I meant it. Hard cases included... but don't go off feeling like you aren't appreciated cause it's not true. I proved my metal over time so will you, if not here than somewhere else.
At least here you'll be a part of a real community of people that share your passion and a passion for a place we can finally call our own for our own.

Ha ha hey Chico, the man! How you doing. Glad to see you still comfortably escounced into the reams of the HRF and doing your thing, how ya been?

Its been a busy late winter and early spring. We'd had snow way into April. Ice storms with tons of debry and a mess to clean up on the back 40. I'm still working on it,maybe 1/2 done. And then come May I hit the ground riding.

Since I upgraded from a Sporty to the Softy, I was looking for a new place to share ideas and stories of great rides (and pics, lots of pics) but with assholes like Tourist on here I won't be.
