The ASP Tactical Baton is made in the US and is the best impact weapon available.
Thanks for sharing, beats a sharp stick any day.
I always preferred my little snub .38 cal Colt...!
I prefer 'reasonable' firearms myself. In fact, the firearm I've used (and will carry when the licensing goes into effect) is a CZ 83 in .380 ACP. Most real fights of any sort happen at arms' length.
I play with 1911s customized by Terry Tussey. The operative word is 'play.'
My reasons for a knife and an ASP are logical--to me. An ASP gives me 'reach.' And in conflicts distance is your friend. In most cases I will also be jockeying my wife to a position behind me. I probably won't be given the optimum position to fight as I would wish.
In like manner with firearms, I will not be given a chance to go into a Modified Weaver stance and do a perfect Mozambique drill.
As for the knife, let's face it, I'm 61 years of age. I'm physically stronger than most 20-somethings, but I'm not going to risk my life on a pissing contest. If the attack is life or death, or if pain from the ASP does not stop a drunk or a drug addict on something like PCP, then a major injury is required.
And BTW, I lugged around a 1911 and three loaded magazines in the 1970s as a bill collector--did it in a Jackass shoulder holster. Ahhh, the romance of youth! What an egotistical waste of time...
