I make no secret that I am a strict constructionist in my politics. Keeping that in mind, what's your take on Sarah Palin now?

The media is bullspit, unless you see or hear it for your self, sound bites are manipulated, it is all lies.
Puppets and their masters, I don't give a ship. Do yourself a favor, go ride (while there is still fuel).

LOL. I agree. The problem is that I am a student of history, and you'd be amazed at how much 'history' people claim to know which is actually the plot of movies.

For example, we've all heard about "The Gunfight at the OK Corral." What people do not know is that Wyatt confided to Morgan on the walk over to the corral that he had never shot at anyone. Wyatt was famous for only hitting troublemakers over the head with his revolver barrel, once bending it.

In like manner, what people claim to know about Paul Revere is rooted in the poem. There were more than just him and Dawes riding out to warn people. There were over a dozen riders. They did not yell, "The British are coming!" because many townspeople were British citizens or Tories. In fact, both Revere and Dawes were "detained" by British troops. Dawes escaped, but fell off of his horse. Revere had his horse confiscated.

During his questioning, the British soldiers heard church bells and gun shots. It was then--and while in custody--that Paul Revere told the soldiers that colonial patriots knew they were coming and had prepared. There is some speculation that Revere told them, "You are all dead men." When released, Revere walked to the home of John Hancock to help him hide colonial papers.

So the truth is somewhere in between. Revere was not the monumental hero as depicted in the poem. He was one of a dozen. Further, he did not ride to also inform the British as Palin stated, but rather admitted to the British soldiers of their predicament while in custody.

While I admit to being more in line with Palin's politics, I am growing tired of her gaffes and the sloppy way her handlers prepare her for interviews. I no longer believe she would be a good, knowledgeable candidate, and in fact, she would hurt the chances of another person if she ran again as a VP choice. She ain't the one.

+1 brother and can we get an "Amen"...
IMHO, (from the feed back at the time) she was one main reason Obadman got in. Little to no confidence in her and also McCain's decision making ability.... Why her? He had much better to choose from, and it cost him.

As time goes by, I am beginning to believe that myself.

At the time of the election, however, I believed differently. First, I believed that the McCain ticket was upside down. I thought Palin might garner more of the women's votes, and veterans might vote for McCain. With Palin as President I believed that the Tea Party goals (I am a strict constructionist, remember) stood a better chance of seeing light than from an old guard insider.

Second, I thought BHO's one and only strength lie with apologetic whites who would be made to feel racist for not voting for him.

I have changed my mind. I still think the idea of a Tea Party female can have traction. If I had my way, that might be someone like Michele Bachman. To her credit, she ain't Palin, and right now that's a plus!

Careful what you wish for...

Actually, I have way too many skeletons on my closet. I have little patience for the "gotcha" questions by yellow journalists. I believe that if any new piece of legislation flies in the face of the Constitution it must earn a veto.

Oh, yes, I'm 'pro biker.' The key word there is 'biker.' You have to actually ride a motorcycle, not just a black T-shirt to your yacht club. I also believe that "biker crap" has to be 'age appropriate.' If you're a twenty-something and hacking the sleeves off of your jean jacket while calling everyone "bro" or "blood," then you'll do hard time at Leavenworth Prison.

I shall also wear a scarlet alb with a blood red dalmatic, and I must always be addressed as "Chico the Merciful," or else... :icon_evil:

I've done worse, and all before breakfast...
I got no worries Bro, Blood, Man, I've paid my dues for years got the scars and broken joints to prove it.
I never cut the sleeves off any jacket.
And I'm old enough and gray enough to have no worries under your administration...
So did you say we can CCW.... I like you better already.
Your mercifulness LOL!!

In the sovereign state of the feudal oligarchy that worships me, you can carry what you want, where you want, and the role of government is solely to plow the snow and pick up the trash. Not harrass its citizens. I intend to buy five-strand hemp rope by the metric ton to string up any "civil servant" who violates the public trust.

Your king thanks you. Now whose leg do I have to hump to get the morning paper, a stack of micro-fiber cloths for Betty, and a five-shot cappuccino...? :icon_laughing:
