I've got a 85 FXEF and it has a hyper-charger in place of an air breather, The engine breather tube that orig went to the air cleaner now go'es to a small filter under the transmission and when I shut down the oil settles into the crankcase will drip unto the floor thru this arrangement. I would like to "T" into another line? like the return oil, or tank breather line but I don't really know which line I should tie it into...Any help would be GREAT!! Thanks OldTimer

Great to have you here at the forum! You don't want to put that spooge back into your oiling system. Usually at the breather you have the oil mix with the condensation coming from the engine. Some people have the setup that you have or you can get what is called a Engine Breather Oil Collector. This collects the oil mixed with the water so that it does not make a mess on the ground. You have to empty the Engine Breather Oil Collector can every once in a while. You can get them at J&P cycle they are sponsors of the forum. Click the J&P Cycle link on the home page and search Engine Breather Oil Collector. They are a bit pricey tho. If you are handy you can make one too.

Pricey?!!! Boy, you ain't a-kiddin' at 139 bucks!

I had a factory unit on one of my Gold Wings. It was a little plastic bottle hosed-clamped to a breather line. The only thing it ever collected was a faint mist and I never had to drain it. I'm not even sure of my mechanic ever serviced it.

Thanks to all, Trying to pick a way to try, the breather gadget is a bit pricey, played around once with trying to build a silencer thinking along on that type of thing and have a push button to drain it as needed. but Lenny82 is right I don't want that crap back into my system. Time to get out some tools. Thanks OldTimer41

I see lots of bikers have the same setup as you have now. I don't think that there is anything wrong with it. Just make sure that you keep as much away from the tire for obvious reasons. I would just leave it as it is and go ride. It is the simplest and least expensive way out.

finally worked it out, went to old hose that used to go to the air cleaner that was changed to a hose and filter by the back tire and got rid of the hose and filter that dripped onto the floor and installed a 1/8 brass fitting and a compression nut in the oil pump then ran the tubing to the spacer for the hyper-charger and drilled and tapped it for another compression fitting now no oil on the floor the bike runs great and the copper line is mostly hidden behind the pushrod covers, mostly the same as originally used before the charger was installed. about a 2 in the 1 to 10 scale.. Hope it may help some of you......OldTimer Just finally had the time finding time was the hardest.
