You have to be kidding me! Clearly you miss the whole idea of owning a Harley! We do not whine, we do not snivel, we don't mind when things get hard and we never back down!

As a younger man I spent 60% of my meager yearly income to customize my bikes. My sacrifice got me a second place trophy in a WBBA custom bike show. I've had my nose broken twice. I've had to place the vows I took for brothers ahead of personal safety--whether I was scared or not. And I had to work--I loaded padlocks on a loading dock.

Truth is, so did everyone else here!

We don't ask for the easy way out, we don't shrug responsibility and we don't beg for charity! You want to be a Harley rider, well then, you sacrifice and do what you need to do.

Frankly, I will never respect you. Have you considered a Vespa?

You guys might want to know why I trashed this guy, and I feel you deserve an explanation.

In 1970, I was a sophomore here at the UW Madison, and I had a magazine subscription to the old "Big Bike." There was an advertisement in the back of the magazine asking his "bros" to each send him a dollar to buy and customize a Harley. A Sportster went for around two grand then, and even my first Super Glide cost about the same the following season.

I'm sure that the guy figured that if only a small fraction of a national magazine sent him a buck he's have a free bike. I never knew if he generated that amount, but as you can guess a flood of guys started taking out ads. Finally one reader told the turkeys to get a frakken job. The ads disappeared shortly.

If this commie clown gets a buck--even if he is really an "oil prince" from Ethiopia--we are going to get flooded with every easy rider on the planet with sick children, wives with terminally ill spouses, laid-off UAW workers, and sleezy knife sharpeners. Most (or all) of them with be con men and liars.

Now, this is not my forum. Bikers are staunchly devoted to freedom. That means you can flush a few bucks to this cry baby or petition the forum owner to delete this thread--and all future ones.

However, I am an older biker, and I have to stop every 50 miles to refill my 48. Ooooh, the pain! Getting on and off hurts my back! Would you guys send me 400 bucks so I can buy a 3.3 gallon replacement tank? I'm in agony! :icon_crry:

Notice how he made one post and was never heard from again. I wonder if he is hitting all of the bike forums?

I figured it was just to sell your brand of widgets, whatever they are. You end each post with an advertisement.

I can tell you one thing, I won't be buying any of them even if it's an magic elixir that turns turtle feces into busty blondes. Give it a rest, we all work for a living. Bada Bing Cutlery Emporium
