Hey, BI63, for a few brief shining moments we were on the forum at the same time...
(I called you, but a throng of screaming groupies drowwed out my message. Who are those girls...? LOL)
One of my views is that despite the fact we dismiss our forum time as "just the internet," there is a real live flesh and blood person on the other end of the screen. His behavior is just as vulgar and unwarranted as if he was sitting on the next barstool having a brewski. They feed on anonymity, sort of akin to a crank telephone call and quick hang up.
However, a forum is some man's business. He has poured time and money to build up fun place to discuss topics, sell advertising space, attract a following and carry out a mission statement of his beliefs. It's not some jerk-face slam on Facebook. It's a business, just like a B&M store. You shred his forum, you shred his livelihood.
A moderator friend of mine reports that even on some Harley forums fully 30% of the members are simply bored posers. This knife forum held auctions where money changed hands. These children shiit on his business. Internet or not, most people would handle this differently in "the real world." There's simply no excuse.
