I bgought a Nautilus Stebel Air Horn from "Biker Highway" through Amazon.
The mounting bolt is to be torqed at 30 ft. lbs. I couldn't even get 20 on my wrench before the threads were streached out.
The head of the bolt is square, which I couldn't find at the hardware store so I customized one. I made a mounting bracket out od 3/16 aluminum and mounted it on the right side of the head. Jake Jelley

I don't know about Yosemite sam, but the BACK-OFF Brake Light Signal Module

I have that catalog, and I read the blurb and the idea behind it. I'm not sure I understand the concept.

At night your rear running light(s) would be "on" anyway. If this is a concern to you during daylight hours you can just rest your fingers on the front brake lever at a stop. If you're running a jockey shift or a spool hub you'll already be in neutral with your foot on the rear brake pedal. If you're rolling to a stop--even in the act of downshifting for the stoplight--you will be braking.

And a teenage cheerleader yakking on the cell phone is going to run you over even if your jacket is on fire and the brake light is strobing.

If I misunderstand the concept, could you define a scenario where this appliance would be of value?

Other than the teenagers, The module is supposed to be an attention getter, it flashes 3 short flashes followed by one long flash and repeats the same as long as the brakes are applied.

Yes I have seen them in use(other bikes), and truth is there is an excepted theory about flashing lights being more of an attention getter than steady lights. As for the install, Don't know what, I've put security systems on bikes so probably something pretty simple... As for the girl on the phone, you could light up like the sun, she'll see you when you're in her rear view.... yeah, she thought that was a speed bump. I always check my mirror when I see the light up front turn red, at least I'll see her it coming.
But as we tend to agree around here, if YOU think it might be a good thing then try it out, I'm always open minded to stuff that might make riding safer/better.

Oh, no, I wasn't implying that, I just didn't get the "connection" so to speak. You have to remember that I'm a fudd, and my idea of a 'superior' bike is one stripped down to its socks, with an engine far too powerful for any sane man and bathed in more chrome than a pimp-mobile.



Agreed. I thought "fuel tank warning lights" were for wussies--until I had a bike with one.
