I've been using rechargeable batteries in all my flashlights for years,
the batteries you use, 123's are very well spoken of in rechargeable form.
I see them on sale on all the sites that have been refferenced so far.
I just saw something very interesting on the subject of the AAA, AA series:
Rayovac made some lithium rechargable ready to use extra capacity ones but they were sold out so far.
Hope its because they're good and not defective.

Here's what I bought, I've had them for a couple weeks and so far really good stuff.
I've been using rechargeable batteries and they work really well. Run times are very close to advertised and they are very bright lights.

so here's the latest up date:
Have had the lights for months now and "everyone" i show them to is blown away.
I've compared them to every light me, my buddies, my neighbors... have and hands down they are the brightest.
I"ve dropped them out of my pocket and down a flight of steel stairs, cling-clang lit and never missed a beat.
The 2 AA light has replaced my 4 D cell at work, and I've bought more of the AAA one and stashed them in my saddle bag and
glove compartment.
I found out the secret sauce on the batteries and you want to use the LSD "Low Self Discharge" type, some manufacturers call them
Hybrids. Sanyo EEnloops seem to be the gold standard, but there are comparable batteries for half the price. I bought Tenergy Centurion brand and they work great and cost 1/3 the price - 12 batteries for 10.95.
I've compared these lights to models costing 2 and 3 times as much, the look and feel are same quality and the output is higher.
I give them a 2 thumbs up.
Just yesterday I showed the A3 to my friend that rides and later sent him the link to the site I got mine at.
He wants one to stash in his saddle bag.
I'm happy to answer any questions on these lights or the batteries.
Most important thing I learned from all this is how the manufactures name the bulbs/led/emitters.
Right now the "R5" and the "S2" are the latest and best.
It goes by letter, Starting with the "P" series then "Q", then "R" and now "S"
Then they add a version number: Q5, R2, R5, S2...
P and Q are good also but the R-5, S2 are what you want to look for in a brand new light.

I have also been playing with my new SureFire, a G2X-Pro. Next time remind me to read the directions.

When I bought the flashlight it was because I was impressed with the longer run-time when compared with my 6P and it's extreme output bulb.

So I flipped on the G2X-Pro the other day and it was dimmer. I had an old flashlight with a "moonlight" feature, once. It dimmed when the batteries were low to save energy. I thought that's what happened.

But when I clicked it on again, it got very bright!

It is a "dual beam" model, well, duh. Press it once, it's dim, but press it twice and it's bright. How come you guys didn't warn me...

hope you weren't lookin down the barrel when you tried the trigger... I hit a mirror by accident and was seeing spots for a good 5 minutes.
The SA2 has infinite adjustable brightness/dimmer, 4-presets 6L, 42L, 230L, tach strobe.
Hold the adjustment button down and it cycles from low to high and back again till you let it go at the level you want.
LED's are like a little chunk of the sun in the end of a pipe, glad to see you got your self a good one.
I forgot to add one thing:
about the tach strobe, it really does disorient a person to the point of making them fall over, I hit it by accident when I was walking the dog and I tripped on my butt

I never point anything at my face except for a can of Redi-Whip. I had the flashlight aimed at the ground. In fact, I also had my wife's new SureFire, and that's how I noticed. I do like the icy blue hue that hers has. Mine in a tad yellow in comparison, but not if you use it alone.

It's been over a year now, and I can safely say that the lights i have are amazing to say the least.
So much so I've bought and given them as gifts to every one of my close friends (an A3 in Stainless Steel.)
I've also bought the A2 in stainless and given them as gifts this past Holiday season.
I now have 2 SA2's and use them as headlights on my bicycle when riding at night on the river trail... complete darkness...
Unfortunately... the company that manufactures the lights (iTP) is now defunct, and the flashlights are no longer available on most of the sites I mentioned earlier in this thread.
The parent company OLight is now manufacturing a replacement line of lights that are NOT as good.
Lower output, lower runtimes and increased cost...
I bought the last ones I could find in quantity (iTP) and gave them out as gifts or stashed them all over, one in my workshop, one stuck to the refrigerator with a magnet, one hanging next to my bedside, one EDC in my pocket, one stashed in my windshield bag on my mc, one stashed in my handle bar bag on my bicycle, one in my tool box for work, one in the pockets of all my friends and I'd buy more if they were still available.

As for the batteries and a charger I've had them for longer than a year and so far everything works as advertised. So if you were lucky enough to score one of these lights -good for you- if not... well you can still buy lights for more and get less... seems like thats how life is going these days....
