Anyone know what could be the cause of this sputter when I accelerate. I thought it was water in the gas I cleaned out the gas tank and it is still happening. Could it be the timing? Any thoughts. :icon_sos:

Thanks Lenny.

hey Len,
I had some problems once with my bike sounds like the same thing........
I switched out the plugs and it helped but when I up graded the plugs to the split tail screamin eagle ones it went away for good.
I also like the mobil gas premium seems to make it run better.
Hope it helps

If your bike is fuel injected, I have been advised that there have been several instances where the fuel line inside the tank will get a pin hole in it from where it rubs the inside of the tank. This usually happens when the fuel level get a lower and if you top it off it will run fine. Just a thought.

Check the ignition module? It monitors the spark w/out the movment of P/C. Also more and more gas stations are using 10% ethanol. Might need to start adding a fuel stabilzer?

Thanks all!

It turned out to be a clogged injector. I finally ran some injector cleaner through it and it was back to normal.

Thanks again for the helpful thoughts.
