I just purchased a 2004 Road King... FLHR I
It's mostly stock. Screamin Eagle Pipes and Air Intake and that's about it for upgrades.
What are the typical... 'Must Do' upgrades?
What do you guys do to keep the chrome and wheels clean?
Is there any wisdom you seasoned Road King Owners care to share with a new guy?

I love my RK, in my humble opinion its the best bike HD ever made.
I keep my chrome clean with that stuff called .... elbow grease!!

The only upgrade you need is to ride it!! Ride it till the wheels fall off and then get some new ones!!
Keep the rubber side down and the shiney side up!!
RK

You can have it cheap.
You can have it fast.
You can have high quality.
PICK ANY 2....

hello deblasr01@yahoo.com
congrats on your flhri purchase. you asked about upgrades...i ve got an 2003 flhri and found when riding over hundreds of miles a day my body was leaning to far forward and my head was tilted up causing neck pain.....turns out there is a handlebar made for people under 6ft that brings the riders body position to a more comfortable position.after i installed them my self(fun with friends over) i found no more neck pain.of course the HD service manule came in very handy.hope this helps. the bars i got are wild ones chubby 1 1/4inch w508.....no need to change current wires or lines.

I just bought an 09 RK with 7k miles on it. It's my first Harley after desiring one for years and just not being able to afford it. I absolutely love it!!!
