Hello Guys and Gals

Wanted to share this poor experience
Paid 135.00 for a Harley shirt made in CHINA

Cc

Sir

Last weekend, while on vacation in Ca. we visited the Harley apparel store in Huntington Beach and purchased several items.
Huntington Beach
Surf City Harley-Davidson
205 ½ Main Street
Huntington Beach CA 92647
Phone: (714) 969-4411
**APPAREL ONLY**

Later, when examining these items, I noticed that these items were not the usual Harley quality, and upon closer examination
The following was discovered.

The Ball Cap
Inside it displays the Harley registered tag, but the Mfg’s tag says made in China

The shirt – $135.00 USA
The fabric quality is much thinner than other High end shirts purchased from the Harley stores.
Inside it displays the Harley registered tag, but the Mfg’s tag says made in China

Other Items purchased are indeed Genuine Harley

I am very displeased with these products, and would like a refund.
If I wanted a Jap or Chinese Bike, I would buy one.

I own the following Harleys
1. 2008 FLSTN
2. 2008 FLSTN
3. 1999 FL w/ side car
4. 1960 FL Pan head
5. 1956 FL Pan head
6. Aftermarket chopper with SS Motor

Kind regards,
XXXXXXXXX

Consumer

I’m concerned about your use of the word “deceived.” May I ask in what way you believe you were “deceived” about the products you purchased? You indicated that they were clearly labeled “Made in China” when this was the case, so where does the deception come in?

I would also like to point out that I am not a company spokesperson for the purpose of making statements to be published (including on the Internet). I was asked to respond to your message solely because you implied a possible infringement of our trademark rights, which falls under my purview. You did not make me aware at any time that you were looking for an “official” statement to be published on the Internet. Frankly, I construe your doing so without having disclosed your intent as deceptive on your own part.

My position has not changed, I will no longer purchase any apparel from Harley Davidson, and will post this on the approiate web sites to make sure others are not deceived as well.

Subject: Harley-Davidson Trademarks and Apparel

Dear Consumer

Your recent message sent through Harley-Davidson’s Investor Relations portal has been forwarded to me for a response.

I’m sorry to hear that you are disappointed in some of the Harley-Davidson apparel you recently purchased at Surf City Harley-Davidson in Huntington Beach. We aspire, of course, not only to meet our customers’ expectations, but to exceed them whenever possible.

It would appear, however, that the goods you purchased are genuine Harley-Davidson products and not the infringements you suspected. It is an unfortunate fact that there is little or no textile industry left in the U.S. (and even less leather industry), which requires Harley-Davidson and other apparel brand owners to look beyond the U.S. to source their products. It will come as no surprise that China is one of the main alternatives for that sourcing, and so it is true that some Harley-Davidson apparel will have “Made in China” labels in it. We wish that were less often the case, but there it is.

Please note that Harley-Davidson’s authorized dealerships are all independently-owned and operated businesses. Consequently, it will be necessary for you to contact Surf City to arrange the appropriate refund and/or exchange of products.

Please let me know if you need any further information.

Sincerely,

Judy Henslee
