I took my Fatboy out for a ride the other day, it is a 2005 model with Vance and Hines pipes with not baffles,no windshield or bags just a straight up bike,it looks good and sounds good,I was at a red light then this ninja pulled up beside me reving engine, I looked over and grinned, he told me that my bike was a loud granddad bike, I laughed, he popped a wheelie pulling away.
It is funny the baby boomers gives me thumbs up but 20-30 year olds laugh at the bike, To me a real bike is a Harley and I would even say a Indian bike but it is funny even thou I am married it is funny how women flock to a Harley vs sport bikes

I ride The snake in Mulholland/Malibu
and there are a lot of sport bikes
and a lot of Harley's at The Rock Store at bottom of hill.

So up there it doesn't matter what you ride.

I feel the same way, I do not knock other riders bikes when riding, it was a young guy about 20 who made the comment but when they get older they will get over it, to me I ride a Harley because of the heritage, being American and feeling free on the road.

The one thing a sport bike will never have is that fine relaxed riding position. Yeah, I can ride all day and into the night. Get up the next day and do it all over again. A rider has to be young to contort to that crazy belly on tank position. I've ridden sport bikes, I've ridden drag bikes, I've ridden pretty much everything with 2 wheels... What's my ride? A sweet old thing that rides like a dream.
I don't much listen to anyone anymore (especially dumb shits at traffic lights). I listen to me. What I like and f# the rest. OP, if you like your bike than she's all right by me. Enjoy life while you can.
BTW, there's nothing wrong with being a grand pa, I have many friends that are.

Some guys ride Harley's some ride sports bikes,there's plenty of room for both.i have noticed that alot of sports bike riders don't seem to be able to ride them as they should be ridden,I watch them on fast bends and many seem to lack confidence,perhaps they have them for posing only? Also at bike meets I often compare the mileage covered by sports bikes compared to the Harley's year for year.in most cases the sports bikes mileage is way lower,which makes me wonder who gets the most enjoyment from their bikes.my money is on the grandpa Harley rider. Fat boy v fireblade fat boy every time!
