Bought a 2015 Ultra with the 6.5 infotainment center and has a motorcycle centric GPS. Its awesome! Taylor made for 2 wheeled trips. Still use a map but the GPS gets me to the door step.

What are most guys doing about GPS on the touring models? The HD kit is EXPENSIVE!! Is there a way to mount a marine grade GPS on the fairing and connect it to the audio without spending my retirement?

For what it is worth my friend, I do use the Garmin HD latest model. Yup, expensive but certainly does the job really well. I think it is worth it since it is designed to take the rumble of the road. When you are way out yonder, you want to make sure u have a good quality unit not going to go blink-blink on you if u know what I mean.

The others and the Gizmos u need to attach them seem like u r tempting fate.

Of course, if u r nearing the time to get a new bike, then the GPS is built in to all the touring bikes. ??

Let us know what you decide.

Happy Holidays to you and everyone!!

I got a Garmin 65LM and bought a separate mount for the bars. Only use it when trying to find an exact location. About to take a long road trip with it and put it through the paces. We'll see what happens.

Had some out of town guests recently - they just got a new car with GPS. I watched as the info went into the system and in a second or 2 the route was on display on the dash board. We waved bye and off they went.
Yeah, GPS is some very cool Tech.

And damn the OEM for that GPS is like you say $$$$. To bad because it is definately finessed into the flow of the bike from the mounting to the interacting with the rest of the bikes electronics. I still may go the route as I am hoping to keep my bike, well I was hoping this will be my last bike.
