Clutch Adjustment

Anyone know any tips or tricks on how to adjust and oil my clutch and cable. 2010 Roadking

If you slide the rubber up on the clutch cable and loosen the lock nut and screw the adjuster down to give all kinds of play at the lever, disconnect the cable from the clutch leverThen take some cable lube, available at the Harley dealer and pull the cable with a pair of needle nose pliers and spray a little bit onto the cable the push the cable in and out with the pliers and do that a bunch of times to get the lube down the cable. After you do that connect the cable to the lever. Now for the adjustment leave all the slack in the cable take off your derby cover. Now you will see a theaded Rod coming out with a slot on it and a 11/16 nut. Loosen the nut a turn or two, then back off the screw one turn. Then turn the screw in till it males contact with the clutch rod then back it off 1/8 of a turn, then lock down the nut. Then go to the cable where were the adjuster is and unscrew it to take up the slack, you want about an 1/8 of an inch play. Then lock down the adjuster on the cable and slide the rubber back down. You should not have to replace the gasket at the derby cover unless someone silicone it. It takes me about 1/3 the time to do it as type this. Harley manual is the best tool you will ever buy for your bike, invest the 50 bucks or so sand get one from your dealer.

What's up RK, the way you punish that clutch I would think you need a lot of adjustment, lol. Beautiful riding weather out here in the east right now, been on vacation this week just hanging around the pool and seeing people. Life is Good

Thanks Harley for the expert tips and yes I will get a manual. I think that having the manual is a great addition to your maintenance upkeep.
