Heavy lake-effect snow continues across lower Great Lakes

Another round of heavy lake-effect snow is forecast for the Great Lakes through mid-day Friday. An additional 30 inches or more could fall in some locations, on top of the impressive amounts that have fallen already. This will result in very difficult or nearly impossible travel at times in the heaviest snow bands. The snow should taper off during the morning on Friday.

it's kinda fun letting the snow folks know how nice and warm and sunny it is here. It's what the west coast taunt is all about.

We're getting some much needed rain tonight, back to sunny and warm mid 70's in a few days.

I've got my snow shovel, my ice chopper, the big 50 lbs bag of salt, my heavy duty green lace up waterproof boots, my snow pants, parka, double layer heated gloves and heated socks, union suit - complete with trap/crap door...

Every piece of this is in a box, some where in my house (?), that hasn't been opened in over 25 years

As for your name sake overlook I can safely say that there is No Snow there either.

We had a heck a weekend out here - motorcycle show was a blast, rode every day last week and twice this one.

Hope you are feelin better. I am here in So Cal with RK and I have to admit I have lived worse places. Usually the snow line is at 3500 feet high. We do have some mountains that go up to about 6,000 feet. If there is no rain then there will be no snow. So no rain yet. Everyone that is in the snow belt keep warm and throw another log in the fireplace. As a matter of fact they banned using your fireplace because it causes too much smog. Imagine that!


Here is a pic of the Queen Mary, built in 1936 and was very active in WW2. It was a beautiful day at sea 75 degrees. Now she has a permanent dock in Long Beach and is a hotel.

Hi Lenny,doing OK thanx,nice pictures, they banned coal from being used in London in the 1950s because of the dense smogs it caused and the ban still stands that includes logs,used to have guys checking for smoke coming out of chimneys on the houses.we have been seeing lots of news bulletins on the snow over there,scary, best wishes to all who are affected. We get snow every winter but not like that. I HOPE.be safe all. Rod

Buffalo NY got 7 foot. WTF! That's insane. That's not been the only snow here buts it's the worse.

RK been working around the house but out on the bike now, tomorrow is going to be good also. I guess Buffalo area is 60 degrees today which will mean flooding. It's rough over there
