This might be long, but well worth it if you ever want to buy aftermarket parts.
I am writing this to warn everyone of a severe deficit in the customer service department at ScootWorks. I purchased a front pulley from them last summer and had it installed. A little over 1,000 miles later, the belt began making an odd sound. I took it into a dealership, and they found that there were pieces of the pulley in the belt. Both the belt ($380), the pulley ($200), and the rear pulley (which was stock) were destroyed. So, I had the dealership send me pictures, which I forwarded to SW with a writeup of what happened and what the dealership said. A man named Dave Hockady replied, and was very friendly. I explained the problem, and he asked me to send a picture of the inside of the pulley cover. Now the install of the pulley on my bike requires that a guard on the inside of the pulley cover be removed. When I went to take the cover off of my pulley for a picture, I stripped one of the bolts and with the lack of tools, I could not get it off without going to a dealership (I was 2 hours from home and the bike, due to being at college). I told Dave about this, and sent him a picture of the pulley guard instead to prove that that was removed in case that’s what he was wondering about. I asked him to let me know if that was what he was after or if I should attempt to get the bike to the dealership so I could get another picture. He took a LONG time to reply, and claimed there was no picture attached. There was, I checked. I sent another email with the picture assuredly attached, and after another long time he again claimed that there was no picture. There was. Since that time I have repeatedly emailed him and called SW. In the past 4-5 months he has not returned a single email, answered his phone, or made any attempt to return a call/voicemail that I had left. Now understand that in all of this I was rational, calm, professional (friendly, even), non-demanding, and non-threatening. I was not even saying that it was their fault, only trying to figure out what happened and who/what WAS at fault. ScootWorks essentially said “we don’t care, even though it was our product that caused $1,000 worth of repairs we aren’t going to investigate it. Hell, we’re not even going to dignify our customer with any sort of reply or communication. Screw you. Thanks, love ScootWorks.”
I’m not out to get them, I’m not butthurt and retaliating over a bad experience. I’m just warning people to USE CAUTION in making a decision whether to order parts from ScootWorks or decide to use a different company. Because that’s very much what I’d recommend.
Finally, I have sent an email with this post (made on multiple websites) to ScootWorks. I have promised them that IF they should decide to resume communication and make an effort to resolve this problem, I will happily make another post to tell everyone that they have begun to make an effort for their customers again. But until then, BE WARNED.

Pretty simple: the guy asked you for a specific photo and you didn't deliver...
YOU SUCK!! not the company you're bashing
Thats just my opinion....

You can have it fast.

If you had actually read what I had to say instead of skimming it, you would realize that I never got a reply at all. That was the most obvious thing he would be looking for, and since I was unable to get my cover off myself I wanted to make sure that wasn't what he was after before driving two hours across the state and arranging/paying for the bike to get towed to a shop (I don't know about you, but I don't enjoy riding in snow). Make sense? I'm not on here to make enemies and I'm not attacking you, I'd just prefer you fully understood the situation before insulting me. Thanks.

You must feel like a real badass making irrelevant wisecracks to people on the internet. Please stop turning this into an argument.

I promised to report any positive turns, so I'll mention this: The day after I sent that email to SW, I got a reply from Dave. He claims that the fault is with a malfunctioning spam filter (though I don't know why he was all of a sudden pouring through the spambox on a whim). Even if this is true it doesn't explain why he broke off emailing or wouldn't return phone messages. However, at this point I'm willing to let bygones be bygones and just try to get to the bottom of this. Sent another email and haven't heard back, but if there's anything positive to report I'll do so, as promised.

You complain about a company, that most everything was your fault. If the belt and pulley were shredded the only reason would be they were misaligned. They ask for a picture of the damage and you can't even get the cover off without stripping a bolt? Then you are unable to remove a stripped bolt? That pretty much sums up your mechanical abilities and who they are dealing with. I don't blame Scooterworks one bit, I'd ignore you too...................

Well fortunately there's one member of this forum who never makes a mistake. What an asset you must be! I've been rebuilding engines since I was 16, sometimes you lean on something wrong and stuff slips. Oh well. Perhaps you can come do all my work for me so I can make sure everything is done within micrometers of perfection. I'll send ya my number, bro.

Also, SW wants me to ship the pulley back to be examined. Perhaps they're not as confident as our resident expert that there's only one possible cause of such a problem. Holy crap!

Made plenty. Just don't blame anybody else for them. If you have been rebuilding engines since you were 16 how come a stripped bolt kicked your ass??
